The conservative approach is the easiest way to go for a coach and one of the worst decisions I have seen on this was when Haumole made his debut, he had an impact straight away and Des decided to not play him the next game in selecting JetSki.

My point being is Hoppa is a class player with a high ceiling, his form demands he should be picked along with Talau, the hope that Koula, Garrick and Saab find their best form is hope not merit. One out of those three on form should be playing NSW Cup.
Yes, the outside back question is the one everyone is waiting to see answered. Followed by the bench question.🤔. Not too long now before we find out 😄

Not that it will happen. But this would be my team.

1.Tom Trbojevic
2.Jason Saab
3.Tommy Talau
4.Tolutau Koula
5.Reuben Garrick
6.Luke Brooks
7.Daly Cherry-Evans
8.Jake Trbojevic
9.Jazz Tevaga
10.Taniela Paseka
11.Haumole Olakau'atu
12.Ethan Bullemor
13.Sio Taukeiaho

14.Jake Simpkin
15.Josh Aloiai
16.Ben Trbojevic
17.Toafofoa Sipley / Nathan Brown

18.Lehi Hopoate

1.Tom Trbojevic
2.Jason Saab
3.Lehi Hopoate
4.Tolutau Koula
5.Reuben Garrick
6.Luke Brooks
7.Daly Cherry-Evans
8.Jake Trbojevic
9.Jazz Tevaga
10.Taniela Paseka
11.Haumole Olakau'atu
12.Ethan Bullemor
13.Sio Taukeiaho

14.Jake Simpkin
15.Tommy Talau
16.Josh Aloiai
17.Nathan Brown

18.Ben Trbojevic

I would have Bullemore defend in the middle, with Taukeiaho defending on the left edge. I would also be using Talau as a ball-playing lock off the bench. Obviously, he would also cover all backline spots, including the halves. Playing Hopoate at right centre would also give Seibold the opportunity to swap him and Turbo during games.

That’s a good point , and if anything Seibold isn’t afraid to make changes , something Ha$ler would never do.

You can bet one thing for sure, if you leave Garrick or Saab out to play NSW cup, either or both will probably try and agitate for a release, well thats what I am thinking because Hoppa and Talau were our form backs last year and neither deserve to be left out, especially Hoppa, he has been our form player in both trials, even the one we lost. Hoppa has hit the ground running this year thats for sure and look how bad the Roosters are going and losing more players and they have a war chest and contracts mean nothing to them, just ask Ponga and some other big names that I cant recall

I was under the view that we had one 3/4 to shop around and use that money to attract a forward, there was a couple of good forwards available like Terrell May, I don’t think it would be a bad thing to lose a 3/4 with the depth at the club and some very promising young players.

Not my side, but who I think will be selected..
Turbo
Saab
Koula
Garrick
Talau
Brooks
DCE
Paseka
Tevaga
Bullemor
Olakau'atu
BenT
Jake

Assuming or hoping Aloiai is unavailable? 😂

I think you’ve nailed Seibold’s thinking although I wouldn’t be surprised if Lehi starts and Talau goes to the bench. The other consideration is that Saab may not be fit for round one.
