Match Stats

Turns out Burbo centre, Waddell 2nd row wasn’t the play. Clayton Faulalo is ready for first grade and should’ve slotted into the centres.

Burbo and Waddell offered absolutely nothing in attack, Burbo had a couple poor defensive reads. Was interested to see how Burbo would go at centre against an opposition that had all week to game plan around him, didn’t go so well.

Faulalo is ready for first grade, can do with more physicality but that’ll come. Top 30 contract in 2025, i’d like to see him extended sooner than later. Would prefer him over Paulo/Schoupp for outside back depth easily.
I was impressed by him today. Got targeted but kept going. Caught a lot of kicks. Crossed twice. Was supporting for cherry's try.

I must have watched a different game. Led the team in run metres and post contact metres.

I'm not saying he was awesome..but i'll repeat my initial statement - i don't get the Tom hate.
See my previous post. We are all so forgiving with his impressive run meters stat, but the tries scored and try assists is where his work really counts… and let’s not even count the positional play and number of times he let long kicks bounce numerous times before getting to them.

I think you are being too harsh on Burbo and Waddell but I agree Fualalo should have been in the 17, but he should've been on the wing with Talau at centre.

Yeah your probably right am being a little harsh, just thought they weren’t dynamic in attack not that i was expecting them too be. Got through heaps of work, did a job and probably was the safer play overall than slotting Faulalo in the centres/wing.

Typical Manly performance. Courageous, big effort, big hits, but let in too many soft tries. Premiership teams dont beat themaelves. Roosters are the most talented team in the comp but they beat themselves too often.
To be honest the tries we scored were more Chooks errors than anything.
We got rid of Parker then we bring in Ben. Ben and Jake are so blunt in attack. Aloia passed his prime. Paseka, Sipley play one good game out of four.
Lawton should’ve rushed Tupou to try stop the chooks last try and he should’ve done better to kick the ball on the final play.

I think the roosters contained him well.
A champion needs to rise to these challenges and find a way. Turbo has struggled with this, which was highlighted in his amazing 2021 season. Good teams did their homework and contained him. Until this day, he hasn’t found a way to rise above that challenge. He is still flat track bullying his way through it.

Surely, somewhere in the Rugby League world there would of been a better player than waddell we could of signed instead of him. Like honestly, I think some coaches get blinded by the numbers rather than what's in front of them. I feel the same away about burbo funnily enough, albeit much much better than waddell

what a game
Slow out of the gates

Tedesco try was forward set the game unfortunately
Manly fought back showed this team has Something
Manly will play finals this season after that performance
Not happy with the result but happy that this team will give it there best shot
