Would have helped if he was smarter about getting in position for their long range kicks early in the first. Trundled across and allowed multiple bounces numerous times. Lacked urgency IMOYeah we really needed a bit more intensity from Turbo but I think he used up a lot of petrol covering all those long range breaks that his brother kept letting through.
Yeah that's the thing unfortunately. He's a good defender normally but he was marking against some very good players.
Hopefully we won't have to wait too many more weeks to get Koula and Hoppa back. Can we please stop playing 2nd rowers at centre. Get Tommy Taulau at centre please. Stick Clayton at wing.
Hope everything is ok @eagleron . Pity they couldn't get the win for you.I followed this from my hospital bed, I hope the nurses don't come around to check my blood pressure ffs
He is out injured. Why didn’t Seibold put Aaron Schoupp in the centres instead of Burbo?
He's still getting match fit. He tried to play a high intensity game his first week back and ran out of petrol.Would have helped if he was smarter about getting in position for their long range kicks early in the first. Trundled across and allowed multiple bounces numerous times. Lacked urgency IMO
Why didn’t Seibold put Aaron Schoupp in the centres instead of Burbo?
Sooo far from our best tonight…The roosters were the better team but at least Manly stayed in it. A less resilient team would have mailed it in at half time.
I don't get the hate for Tom on here. He isn't the 2021 Tom but he is still our best player (and only a couple of weeks from coming back from a fairly serious injury)
What happened to Simpkin? Only 26 minutes.
Turbo made 210 metres with the ball and was heavily marked all game. Unfortunately when we have so many back rowers playing in the backline due to concussions, there is only so much he can conjure behind a forward pack that was outgunned for most of the game.
That was a great effort, unfortunately we did not win.
Also, Jennings shouldn't have been allowed to return to the NRL.
Shouppe injured a few weeks agoWhy didn’t Seibold put Aaron Schoupp in the centres instead of Burbo?
Exactly. we had to deal with quite a bit too, the roosters had the rub of the green for the first 20 min which took it out of us. I knew we were up against it when I seen Klein named. Teddy forward pass, Lawtons six again was diabolical, the tupou penalty was unlucky. All in the early stages. It's also hard enough in the NRL as it is without I believe certain narratives going around in the game. I don't know if it's just me but rugby league isn't what it used to be.. I've grown a little disillusioned with it all. Practically the EPL these days.. there's 4 teams with a chance year in year out. The rest are just making up the numbers whilst the NRL cash in on itManly with a full team can do the chooks, we did alright considering.
That dog cu*t should be in jail. That was a great effort, unfortunately we did not win.
Also, Jennings shouldn't have been allowed to return to the NRL.
This is where the stats are somewhat misleading. While the total run meters look good, the zero tries and zero try assists are telling. That is when he is doing his best work.Turbo 210m, 5 tackle breaks, 66 post contact metres, close to scoring, close to try assist with Clayton.
I wasnt all aloiai fault on that one. I see simpkin got hooked also not long after. Rubbish from both of themFirst 40 couldn’t get in the grind early with the Rorters having 75% of the ball for the first 15 minutes.
Some horrible individual missed tackles that led to tries, Alioia getting bumped off by Sam Walker was a horrible effort, Ben T got caught flat footed by Tedesco twice and DCE fell off Tupou.
Rorters got a try to Radley where Waddell was pushed off the ball by Radley, bad miss from the officials that one, bounce of the ball all the Rorters.
Rorters slowed the ruck down all game under Klown they got away with it, one of the worst referees in the game.
The attack lacked shape though wasn’t helped with the ruck speed being slow, tries came off a show and go, a barge over and three intercepts.
Alioia, Ben T and Waddell below par.
Good effort to stay in the game and go within 4 points without Saab and Garrick.
I think you are being too harsh on Burbo and Waddell but I agree Fualalo should have been in the 17, but he should've been on the wing with Talau at centre.Turns out Burbo centre, Waddell 2nd row wasn’t the play. Clayton Faulalo is ready for first grade and should’ve slotted into the centres.
Burbo and Waddell offered absolutely nothing in attack, Burbo had a couple poor defensive reads. Was interested to see how Burbo would go at centre against an opposition that had all week to game plan around him, didn’t go so well.
Faulalo is ready for first grade, can do with more physicality but that’ll come. Top 30 contract in 2025, i’d like to see him extended sooner than later. Would prefer him over Paulo/Schoupp for outside back depth easily.
