I like this. I like us being the underdogs against a top 4 side. Pressure is all on the Roosters....multi million dollar team spluttering towards the finals. There is something seriously missing with the Roosters this year and I think we will prove that on Saturday. I think Cherry will be on a mission for a few reasons but particularly when he sees his old mate the not-so-admirable Crichton on the other side!!!

Boy I hope you're right but I don't see it. Yeah they had a bit of a slip up against Melbourne, but aside from that they have been on FIRE for most of the last 2 months of football. I think we're really up against it this game but I agree, it's better to be the underdog and have no pressure on us. If we win we won't be underdogs for many more games.

I know what you mean, mostly watching games on TV so far this year and a few times I've had to walk away mid-match and come back later to watch the end after calming down and pretending I'll accept whatever's happened, what will be will be (yeah right!)

Since the end of 2014 and that great Manly era, Manly haven't been in the top 4 in the backend of any season other than:

2017 Rd 16 to Rd 19 4th place - finished the regular season in 6th place
2019 Rd 22 in 4th place for one week - finished the regular season in 6th place
2021 Rd 25 final round - rose from 5th place in the final game to finish in 4th place after beating Cowboys 46-18 and that length-of-field try

This is a real quandary , Simpkin has been excellent as a replacement , we seem to move forward better as a unit with his crisp passing from dummy half BUT Froggie’s defence in the middle is first class.

The only remotely intelligent way to keep Croker in the 17 is to start him with Simpkin on the bench. But with Croker at 9 I don't think we gain enough in defense to make up for what we lose in attack. I'd rather have Simpkin.

If we are going to bring Croker back into the hooking position then…. first 20 minutes to focus on defence. Simpson comes on from there and stays for the rest of the game, unless it’s a dour struggle and we would benefit from Froggy coming back on to give his all, defending the middle and holding a team out.

The middle is where the heat will be on from the kickoff, we won the middle against them at Brookie, they have Spencer back who didn’t play in the Brookie clash.

I fancy how chances in the middle with a fresh Tent and a mobile bench, will be a tough game the Rorters are a good side and can put points on quickly if they get on top in the middle.

Manly by 8 is my thought/ hope..
