RIP Warnie

When I got up in the morning, I reached for the TV remote and turned the TV on.
The first thing I saw on the screen were the horrible words " Shane Warne dead at 52 "
The Universe froze.
I was numb.
I couldn't process or comprehend what I saw on the screen.
I thought " Why am I not crying? "
" Where are my emotions? "
It wasn't until the TV channels started to interview Warnie's former team mates that the flood gates opened.
I was a blubbering mess.

Warnie the Hero, Warnie the Legend, Warnie the Larrikin
Warnie the Greatest Bowler of all time.
Warnie the batsman that plays a hook shot and gets caught out on 99.
Because playing a safe, sensible shot was not Warnie's style.

Warnie was a swashbuckling Cricketer who didn't take any prisoners.

Warnie was a personality and a character.

Warnie was a modest charity fundraising humanitarian.

Warnie was Warnie and we ****#n love him.

The Barney Army and arguably the best supporter group in world sport and foe of Australian cricket have summed it up in a chant
“ wished you were English “

Some one has already mentioned
When they threw Warnie the ball if you were at the ground you would Jean forward in your seat in anticipation
In the pub it would become silent
If at home you would stop and turn up the radio

Compared to the people who have paid tribute I feel inadequate to comment other than I feel privileged to watch the one of the greatest ever cricketers

A day that everyone will remember where they were when they heard the news
It's The Barmy Army not The Barny Army.
