She is a Victorian lefty of some type. I know she was a union lawyer - though not a unionist. I will have to ask my daughter who is more of fan.

She is from the Victorian left but the national right put her into office.  Originally a lawyer at Slater and Gordon and then John Brumby's chief of staff as opposition leader in Victoria at the time.
