Queenslands champion team

I'm pretty sure Trump Derangement Syndrome is the very reason why we shouldn't allow egos as large as Bozo's to go unchecked 😛
(....and I'm sure Bozo knows that deep down I really love him 🙂 )
Over all You do sound like a lovey person @MuzztheEagle and I must say I admire your competitive streak and as a fellow feathered friend I declare openly my love for you on this forum as well . <3

When Freddy Fittler speaks...it sounds like someone farting into an ugg boot.

I wonder what the excuses will be when Qld regain control of the origin arena next year. IMHO, it was only injuries and poor selections that cost them this year.

Freddy was a great player, a tremendous player but his three year record as a coach with the Roosters ended up with a wooden spoon. Say no more
Fittler became NSW coach at the right time and at the right place where NSW played a depleted QLD side due to players retiring and being injured .
Any coach would have coached NSW to victory in those two games against a QLD machine that was out of tune and back firing.
Freddies luck ran out when the dynamic DCE ran onto the field and made QLD competitive

I was going to dislike that comment (maybe there should be a disagree) slater was better than Stewart. He had his own injuries and snakes came in the middle of his career I know. Skater did some grubby things but he possibly saved the wolf mans career and ability to walk.

Slater was the best. No dishonour in being second behind him. Stewart was spectacular.

Qld were helped by the fact that their pool of talent has come from three teams for the past fifteen years.

Nsw were derailed by people picking kurt gidley as fullback and captain under Bellamy. Possible conspiracy theory from the club coach of those superstars.

Man, I hate the reference to Slater and the Wolfman injury as if it makes him a good guy (nothing personal @Top End Eagle - you’re just the most recent poster who’s mentioned it). You’d be hard pressed to find a player who wouldn’t do the same thing in that situation - they all know about the potential for spinal injuries etc. You’ve only gotta watch any time someone is knocked out during a game (in any code, TBH) - there are players all over the place trying to get the guy’s mouthguard out, keep him still, get the ref’s attention. Probably the only guy that would do anything different would be Scam, we all know his form in that regard...

Let’s not forget, in the same game Studs Up dropped a forearm into DCE’s head while he was on the ground, and he’s never shown any concern for opposition players while he’s aiming his boots at their heads/faces, whether it’s sliding in feet first along the goal line, or throwing fly kicks when he goes up to take a high ball. He’s taken ‘grub’ to new heights - literally.

You should be a poet, Bozo!

My greatest fear at the moment is .... that next year ... QLD will be on the ropes .... and suddenly .. in the sky ... is it a bird ... is it a plane ... NO! it's Scam heeding the call to return and save the day!!!! ...

... it will be a media feeding frenzy ..
Seems just the sort of bloke that would enjoy all that attention

Can see Vonny creaming herself just at the thought of it

I don't think they will take that long and I think Kev will be excited by the thought of the new blood. Arrow was a machine, Ponga showed he can handle it, DCE was great, Hunt off the bench worked a treat, Kaufusi was solid.

On the flip side, I thought Hess and Wallace were a little down and Cooper will be another year older with more wear and tear. You can't underestimate the impact of no Gillette this year either. Ingliss was huge in game 1, but game 2, meh...and not there for the win. He may not be there next year.

Qld will enjoy next year and will be able to approach the series without the bombshells that they had to deal with this year. I'm positive the vibe will be upbeat with a chance to embrace a whole new feeling around the team. More new blood!!

It'll be fun to watch!!

Could not agree more. Snake had a passing game and a great set of hands that Slater just couldn't match. Slater was all about speed but Snake had him more than covered there. At no stage of his career would I ever have swapped Snake for that purple koala

I would give ten likes to this. As a kid I adored our Wombat. But Brett was magical. Beautiful hands and perfect timing. And a clean player. Slater as gifted as he is and kind to Wolfie and his neck was still a generally grubby player. He led with his feet far too often. Look at many of our tries in the 2008 GF. It is Slater's boots coming in on the player scoring. A dirty dog act that he should have been marched for. I am as biased as anything but Brett was better and a more decent person unfairly maligned by some media grubs who should've known better.

Slater is a grub. The leg twisting of a tackled player was once his trademark. He did a great job of this in origin on hayne. Really appalling gamesmanship.
Brett was a better all round player in my mind but slater is a hell of a player. Brett had more skills but his career is littered with injuries, false accusations, feuds with gallop and cherry and in the end just bad attitude on the field when it all went pear shape with glen. His continued disdain for the club wether its right or wrong just casts more shadows on his unbelievable career. Unfortunately he will probably never be remembered for the player that he was and the guy he was. From all reports he struggled after the allegations and i cant say i blame him. Life can sour the best of souls.
