Haumole is the only back rower we have, so I can't figure out who you think Des will replace him with. He's literally the last man standing.

Dce will never play 9. Need to let this go. I know it’s only opinion but it won’t ever happen. He’s the current Qld and aus 7 for a reason. In form (which he clearly ain’t now) he’s in the top 3 halves in the comp. I do think Schu needs to get to 6 tho and we move with this. Foran to depth/coaching staff as a highly paid assistant. Just my opinion.

Those two may not have and need to lift; however, Aloiai is in the middle and is starting now. He has been impressive. Once his fitness picks up he’ll be even better.

He has been good, we haven't dominated the middle yet but I think we have the middle forward's to do it with turbo hanging around the middle as well and that should give our halves and outside backs more room to move

100% agreed. No way will they play Cherry at hooker and it makes me laugh when people say he should be moved there.

I can't believe some people are applauding this side, it still includes Garrick , Parker and Croker, the three most hated players from March.
It has been clearly explained - for example by @peterh and others (who have mysteriously gone quiet) that Des is probably suffering dementia. Hence he has simply fluked a reasonable selection by necessity, because his favoured players are unavailable. Oh well, maybe we get lucky

Just saying throwing Jake to 2nd row, bring Saddler to lock, have Schuster as back replacement if not starting at 5/8. Get rid of Croker (one game in 15 doesn't save him) have Cust start, Foran 14. Way better team for me....

That side looks heaps better. Walker.. Koula in the centres and Lawton at hooker would make it a top 8 side. We just lack something in the centre and hooker positions.

Strongest side we have named all year. I don't like that Croker is still our first choice 9 but then again Cust is a better impact player than Croker so it probably does work better this way.

I still don’t think we will see the best of schuster till he has some able attacking players outside him, the presence of Tom sweeping around the back is going to create a lot of space for him, but I dont think our centre and winger are good enough to use it. Shame really.

This is true - but was almost thinking it was worth considering Schu on Fifita defensively, as he has what any edge hoping to minimise the Fifita bomb going off, is quick feet....as Fifita is not only strong, but very agile and this in fact a Mass part of his tackle breaking ability...the first and most important part of any tackle, is getting into correct position, which is what Schu can do very well as unlike most backrowers, has the agility to match Fifita....be a big call, but this kid is a Special talent.
Have been a Guoc ambassoder for 2-3 years, but this is a ridiculously tough assignment coming back from injury and minimal game time.

What better way for Guac to show everyone what he's capable of. A huge assignment against Fifita with very little FG game time, but if he is fired up and focused, and can match it with Fifita, shut him down and belt him in D, and be damaging with ball in hand - this game could solidify him as a future star - one we all know as supporters he is capable of being. Interestingly, he actually dwarfs Fifita in height and weight. He's naturally aggressive, and very mobile.

I also think other key match ups will Harper v Kelly, as well as our premier middle forward Paseka, against Tino. If these 3 players can outplay their opposites, manly win

Should be a great game! I watched the Kayo mini of our finals game v sharks in 19 last night. Guacas debut! He scored a try first touch but it got called back! Kid looked big in that game. Strange he didn’t feature much last year. I really hope he plays well Saturday. Also think Aloai starts for Marty again.
