Paseka you Beast

Was good for 15 mins in the first half and was outstanding but he 2nd and 3rd stints were terrible! Has no stamina, he is more of a 15 minute a game impact player
It’s about consistency. Does nothing for three games then has a good one = superstar?

Good effort tonight. Used his physical attributes. Being a first grader requires that each week, not just when the coach puts the fear of life into you like Des did with them this week.He would have been on last chance saloon notice like a few others.

Cows are weak. Perfect chance for the young bloke to take another step forward. He has obvious skills and needs to motivate himself to use them every week.

The problem with the squad is we lack natural explosiveness combined with consistent running with intent that can break the shackles when in the grind to generate good go forward and faster play the balls.

For the first 15-20mins most teams can generate the above off freshness and early enthusiasm alone, even if your squad lacks the raw power/speed/explosive game.

The last 60mins or so was very slow and predictable, obviously a lack of depth and injuries is making things worse but even with a full squad Manly could do with a better mix especially in the backrow and wings.

As i have mentioned way too often DCE should be showing and going more often to make his outside passing options more dangerous when he mixes it up----the early up tempo penetration Manly offered in the first 20mins provided him with the confidence to take on the line at pace without getting smashed.

I think sometimes over the years DCE(or maybe the coaching staff) feel Manly can't afford to have our major ball playing attacking option tackled with the ball too often due to our lack of other ballplaying options, but in saying that DCE has been this way most of his career. In fairness to DCE even during the great years Manly didn't have much punch in the forwards other than through lateral spreads to the back row and centres that both he and Foran were conducting on both sides.

He has showed sprinklings of good signs this season he is trying to move his game beyond playing behind the line as an expensive 5/8 and i like it when DCE is at first receiver after a quick play the ball through the middle like all good halves should.

Basically right now if Manly don't score two tries(with at least one conversion) in the first 15-20mins the game is over.(while holding the opposition to no tries in that period)

Tent was good starting against Parra, they are one of the form packs in the comp. His first 15 was big.

Time for him to start on a consistent basis given he can produce the form he displayed.

For team balance having Marty come off the bench gives a more experienced player to keep the momentum going, or change the momentum if we start poorly.

Hopefully Tent can repeat his efforts when he started against parramatta. Looking forward to him having a big game today.

Has anyone got the story on Tent from the telegraph today?

Taniela Paseka rejects NFL offer to remain at Manly after COVID and pregnancy news

ONLY last month did Taniela Paseka, one of the biggest players in rugby league, make the biggest decision of his sporting career by turning his back on the NFL.

At a meeting in New York, the 197cm, 122kg Manly Sea Eagles prop had been convinced by NFL scouts late last year to join the Indianapolis Colts though their International Pathway program.

He kept the offer quiet this season, but then COVID hit, and Paseka and partner Kobi Ruzzene discovered they were about to welcome their first child.
“I believe everything happens for a reason, that’s how I look at life, it wasn’t meant to happen,” Paseka said.
“It was a big decision because I’d have to leave my contract early with Manly, I didn’t have any back-up, nothing in my bank account, but I still had that thought in the back of my head that I wanted to play in the NFL, because I think I can be really good at it.
“So they set up a meeting, me and my partner went to New York last October, we met with the Colts management and they talked me through the NFL, what happens inside, I was really intrigued and I was thinking, ‘I really want to do this’.

“But it was only last month that I decided not to do it now because of what’s going on with COVID, I made the decision to say no to the NFL because the situation over there is too hard, and I’ve got a baby on the way.

“It’s not on my mind now, I’ve got another year at Manly and I’m really happy here, it’s a great club.”

Yes...when I see the players yell, sledge, back slap, celebrate every play like they won the game, get all in someone's face when they make one tackle, more yelling and screaming...

I go....

Yes, that's exactly what I think of when Taniela Paseka comes to mind.

He would be a great quarterback.
