our backrow

Frank was burnt by mcrone twice yeap the ex canberra reggies player.
Need quality backrowers jamil situation is getting urgent now

Thought he played well against the roosters. But consistency is a problem .bainbridge before Jamil for me
Yes billy forgot about him he injuried. Big problem i noted to my fellow eagle fan brother is under fatigue our defence is purtrid on the edges.same thing v souths walker side.
Good sides defend well in fatigue we seem to struggle. I got no doubt mcgregor pulled the souths tape v manly apart

Dude, he didn't even put a jersey grab on McCrone when 'defending' for the DeBellin try under the posts, just terrible. The guy isn't an 80 minute player. I'd love to see Hoppa but I guess that's with the NRL. As for the rest of the forwards I saw a lot of Jeb Bush's out there (low energy guys). Darcy I thought was rusty from his time off, but I think he was trying to lead and raise the aggression of the pack, sometimes he goes too far but that's always a tightrope to walk.

AFB was the standout of the forwards for me, busy, aggressive and busting his ar$e to be in everything. Don't know when he's off contract but we need to keep this guy.

AFB was a standout he is going to be a star. I think he resigned for a couple of years.

Hopefully yesterday's display debunked this rubbish that siro and winterstein somehow add to our structure in defense. Next year I'd have billy and another buy as our backrowers. Shame there isn't much on the market

We are about 3 to 4 high quality forwards away from a top 4 team. We need to sign a Jessie Bromwich or James Graham style tough as nails hardman workhorse prop that bends the line and 2 high quality back rowers like Alex Glenn and Boyd Cordner. Until then we will struggle. Our boys Sirro and Frank try hard but I don't think they are premiership winners even at their best.
Yep, i agree with this. Adding a high quality prop and back rower would be ideal.

Lussick just needs more match fitness. Took him a while to work into the season last year. Winterstein actually made some good runs yesterday but long term need a better option. Siro was very dissapointing and needs to lift. Brown i can still see why they pick him as he played center again. Woukd love hastings on the bench and come on to add some spark. He was going good in reggies yesterday but not sure he would of covered the center position yesterday??

Long term hastings will be 5/8. Green goes ok but runs side ways a lot doing nothing and is weak in defence and slow. DCE makes every half look avg in the defence department. He does way too much tackling and tires himself out for the attack.

Hopefully we haven't spent too much of the 2018 and 2019 cap and can add some more starch in the pack. Jury is still out on Kelly. Long term i think he will be great. Yesterday his defense was average. You wouldn't see whare miss easy one on one tackles like that but i think he will learn. Matai was a bit avg in defense when he started. Kelly is a tough kid for his age.

We need a young luke lewis type player. Tough, great defender and good hands.

Looking at off contract players 2017 and 2018 there is not much. You have some big names like broomwich and cordiner etc but no way their respective clubs would let those type of players go.

Our best bet is to snare some good up and comers from teams like penrith and also players like Bainbridge and hoppa come good. If Lane could fix his defensive laps he is a handful with the ball.

Looking at whats available i would put Tapau in the back row and get jake defending in the middle. I would try and buy nelson asofa solomona and have him interchange with Tapau. Buy a decent prop or a hard nose competitor like graham.

It has worked really well for the dragons getting Vaughan and having a combination of workhorse back rowers and also some impact back rowers that sub off for stints. Cowboya do it with Talmalomo and canberra with papali. We should do it with Tapau in the back row.

Sitaleki is a must in imo

Our entire team was flat. When we have been good, Winterstein and Siro have been massive parts of that. Let's give Frankinstein way longer to prove himself.

Jake T was our single biggest problem yesterday.

DCE handled that ref shocker so well. Walker wanted the ball and had a go.

We got flogged up front. And Jake just whinged. Showed his frustration at his own team mate, possibly his brother, Kicking the ball and going off, when a team mate made an error. He was just whinging at the ref all game. He's a negative nelly, who just dosent move past a **** up, little wonder our forwards all dropped there heads.

Jake is good enough to turn it around next week, but let's call a shocker, the absolute shocker of a game he played.

If anyone's head should roll. It's not Frankinstein.

As much as I love Jake's game and passion, I think the reactions you alluded to are confirmation that we made the right choice over the captaincy. DCE has plenty to learn in that captaincy role, but he already excels at emotional intelligence in dealing with adversity. We may not like it as fans, wanting somebody to voice our own frustrations, but it's not what is required for the team moving forward.
