Other Games [Round 7, 2022]

So another one that's worse than Olakuatu hit and no sin bin. This'll do me. FUK THE NRL.
But what I find astounding (and absolutely suspicious) is that the bunker picks it up some 4 minutes after the event and informs the on-field ref. When do we ever see the bunker clowns doing that in other games? It's like some clown in there has a psychopathic vindictive agenda against certain players/teams and there are no checks and balances in place

Your theory is looking more and more like a genuine conspiracy against certain players and clubs....I wouldn't rule it out !!

So now the bunker clowns search for any minute reason to give it to the favoured few once again. It's sickening how much they will scrutinise for a reason to favour the same fukwit teams every time.

I’m not one for conspiracies, but I’m struggling to explain the obvious inconsistencies. And it’s one thing to have different rulings over similar events, but to find something after looking through tape well after the event when play has moved on is just mind-boggling.

Johnson belongs with the warriors. Over-rated show pony, who won’t do the 1%ers. Fits perfectly with Reece Walsh and Harris-tevita. They all like running with ball and keeping their jumpers clean.

The NRL has become like the EPL. Only a couple of teams can win it and the rest make up the numbers. They sold everyone a dump with this joke called a salary cap. It doesn't work. Certain clubs pervert every rule they can and the spineless officials do nothing to stop it.
They've reached the point after 7 rounds where most people will turn off and not bother watching their team as they have no chance. It's a lop sided farce , officiated by incompetent biased refs and bunker clowns. It's become a 2nd rate joke of a sport. The AFL is killing it at all levels.

I really hope your death riding of the bunnies is correct.
You realise we play them next match and they have consistently towled us in recent years 😀
I reckon we can take them, we might be without Turbo and a few but if the second half against the gummies is anything to go by we're a good chance, their spine isn't half as dangerous without Reynolds and without Latrell they're a totally different side, Walker isn't playing with the same confidence now he's got a p plater alongside him and their much vaunted attack is pretty benign imo so I give us a good chance of upsetting them, I'd like to see Guacamole challenge the bs penalty because we need him this week

Other than the fact I don’t really like the AFL as a game you are dead right, EVERYTHING they do is better than the NRL.

They don’t let the broadcasters dictate anything ( which is a start ) but there’s so many other things that they are leaps and bounds ahead of the Twits that run League. The draft , the fact that sides who were down the bottom one year can be back near the top the following.

League is now “ the big 3 or 4” with the rest making up the numbers , and nothing will change.

If not for my love for my team I could easily walk away from this game.

We all know there are two outstanding teams in this year's comp.
I can understand why The 'Riff are so good; they have a huge junior development system and, simply, have more young players who are talented. Their success will continue because good young talent keeps rising through their grades.
But Melbourne? No juniors. I can't understand why anyone from Queensland or NSW would want to live away from home and in a city where RL is so poorly appreciated. It must be Bellyache. The guy must be a RL genius. He turns average players from other clubs, or rookies, into stars.
I'd like to hear what you guys and gals believe to be the keys to Melbourne continual success.

They are an exceptionally well run club run by people who know what they're doing rather than rugby league old boys (after the salary cap Stephen Rue became chairman of the Storm - he is now CEO of nbn)

They cultivate the right relationships regarding wrestling coaches and they mask their "indiscretions" well so they dont cause the NRL image problems which means the establishment likes them in addition to them being in AFL heartland... despite their inability to cultivate juniors.

Speaking of juniors their pathways are excellent.

They also dont pay overs for players to stay. They know how much value a player adds on their own merits vs how much is purely from their structures and a player slotting in to them.

They are also the first to exploit grey areas to their limits.

Bellamy is also the greatest coach. So speaking of pathways - aspiring players want to play for the best team so they learn the most. Matty Johns pushed his kid to sign with Melbourne for this reason. Whether this benefit is real or not is irrelevant - the perception is there so it benefits Melbourne

Its easy to dislike them and theres many on this forum that have objections to anything or anyone saying anything positive to say about the purple but we wont reach that next level if we cant acknowledge what teams like Melbourne have done to get there and start doing it

Well said that man, look at the "fox" how's that shift to the dogs working out! Without the storm structure he's just another fast guy. Des could learn from that, Saab needs more structure, than, hanging around for Cherry to try a bomb into his corner.
