So, independent doc calls him off for a HIA head knock, but the bunker says no penalty. You can't have two bodies making decisions in the game that are completely incongruent. Absolute stupidity
A quick summary of some of the "independent" doctor's calls on the weekend.
Harry Grant - badly dazed, stumbling. No bunker intervention.
Cameron Munster - badly dazed. No bunker intervention.
Joseph Suaalii - badly dazed, unsteady on feet. No bunker intervention.
Ken Maumalo - slightly injured. Bunker intervenes, taken from field.
Does anyone see any correlation here to the theory of favoured and unfavoured teams?
And, of course, Suaalii scored the try to seal the match just a few minutes after his head knock. After the game Fittler was asked why Suaalli wouldn't have been sent for an assessment and threw out some nonsense to deflect attention. He said the reason why he wasn't sent was because the on-field trainer had assessed it as a low level head injury. But isn't that what the "independent" doctor is meant to override, if the evidence (such as stumbling) indicates otherwise?
Further, in the Manly v Sharks game a few weeks ago, Blayke Brailey was knocked silly making a tackle and was stumbling back into position. No bunker intervention.
The inconsistency is very consistent.
