Croker (in his 3rd game this year) played 48 minutes the other night, made 30 tackles, and we were leading 16-6 when he was subbed off for Simpkin... but he's being blamed as apparently we should have scored 30 points in the first half, and that is his fault.

By comparison, Mitch Kenny, who won 2 premierships at the Panthers, hardly runs the ball, doesn't kick, and is reportedly paid twice as much as Croker (who is reportedly on $300-400k).

I don't generally agree with the idea of "we aren't going to be a premiership threat until we get an elite hooker", also because it was treated as a silver bullet solution on this forum while Api Koroisau was playing here. And then Api left and won two premierships somewhere else... followed by two wooden spoons...

I completely agree. I still think Croker is our best hooker, and I've never understood the "he doesn't give good service" line. He only has given poor service, when they have asked him to make 50 gut-wrenching tackles and play 80 minutes.

Our problem, has, and continues to, lie in the forwards. Only someone on the level of Cameron Smith, could drag our available forwards into being quality. There are none of those available.

For what it's worth, Croker has more try assists than Simpkin! One...

Funny thing about your observation, the dogs are happy too and are looking to move their DH on, midway through his contract and whilst leading the comp, interesting……

If we have 1 hooker there is always Jazz that can fill in for 10-15 minutes a game if needed as well
