No- Cleary is better....Hynes has similar potential but Cleary takes better options - agree Hynes deserves a shot come 2017 trials...but what happened to Tom Wright....is he cursed with injuries because potentially, is better than both of them

Tom Wright was brilliant today : 2 great tries and had a hand in 3 others . Real class player .Hynes was impressive too : controlled the game for Manly & set up tries too.

Is Hynes as good as Cleary ?

No, but that doesn't paint Hynes in a negative way at all. Cleary is the best 18 year old half I've seen. The way he controls NRL games already is just amazing. Looking forward to watching his development. Will be a NSW mainstay from 2018 onwards for as long as JT/Cronk have done it. Potentially even starting next year.

Hearing that Nicho Hynes is attracting a lot of good press, nice to hear he is really kicking on although I hope he doesn't play well against Manly.
Could only find this old thread, which is of some historical interest!

Hynes has a distinctive 'look' I've been trying to think what it reminds me of then I worked it out, Heath Ledger in Two Hands (pretty good movie!)

if Hynes has potential, obviously identified by the club promoting him to train with senior camp, we should throw him in the deep end like Panthers have done with Cleary

Green is a capable 5/8 but he will be retired in 2 years

I say look to youth like we did with Foz
