I'm beyond being impressed with 'solid efforts' against on paper relatively mediocre opposition right now tbh. Realise the Dragons are punching above their weight atm but we have the firepower to win and win well if we play our best. Go manly!
Off course please read my post in the "where do we need to strengthen thread"

I am not scared of being confident and I hope the players aren't either

At our best we would expect to beat teams by being confident that every knew and did thier job

The expectation was that we would work together follow the plan, win the grind and our individual talent would come out when the time come

Our best sides would not panic but step up a gear in defence when required and push the balance our way again

I reckon this side is begining to understand this and realise that they are good enough

Their will be some bumps as the season rolls on but that Trent's job to get us right

There is not a game I don't think we can win and I hope our players feel the same way

Manly by a ****e load this week
Will be having us by 19 +

Jeez, how bad was Ohmar Schlaimankel's injury? Shame Lane and Schuster are dropping down the pecking order. Would like Parker & Tom Wright to play for Blacktown. Jonathan Wright has been injured for a long time.

Tend to agree here. I've said it a few times but we need to stop expecting every player in the 1-17 to be playing out of their skin every week. Brown doesnt set the world on fire but he holds his own in defense and you can see enthusiasm everytime he takes the field. The only thing I would say is that I truly think hastings needs to be given more game time. I know he's young but the bloke can play and if we don't give him a decent crack at first grade I can see him going to a Melbourne (now that Cronk is off) or a Parra, Broncos, Dogs... Need to get him involved, hence I would consider rotating him and brown for that utility role and giving DCE/Green a rest every now and then? Same goes for our prop depth. Why not give Myles/BJ a rest every now and then and see what Lane/Perret/That new beast from the tigers can do. And I don't mean play them for Blacktown, just rest them. If you look at how injuries can cripple a team I think with our depth in the forwards and halves we should seriously consider this..
Totally get what ure saying here - thing is remember we've had a few lean years and now we have a new squad and a coach still finding his feet. There is real pressure and expectation to make a real fist of making the 8 so i think our selections will be conservative, specially if we're winning! The old adage 'If it aint broke dont fix it' comes to mind. Hopefully towards the back end of the season we may have the luxury of resting players and giving the extended squad members a run or two when our finals position is secured...What a beautiful position to be in lol Fingers crossed! Hastings i agree could have a real future here but he's young and he knew his opportunities might be limited in 2017. Barrett has stressed he is an important member of our squad so hopefully he sees his long term future with us.

No drama fellas, there are 18 games to go and I am sure all will get a shot at some stage.

As much as I would like to see Hastings given a run, at this stage (due to lack of opportunity) hasn't done anything that would justify demoting Brown.

Mal Cochrane

I'm not really Mal Cochrane...
I've been a little concerned at the amount of press from the players about how they have turned it around, perhaps too confident in their confidence. 3 wins is bloody good, but prefer they keep it a little more in check. It's a long season.

Prove me wrong boys

Look upon it as a positive reinforcement technique .. the more they say it, the more they will believe it, and the truer it will become.

yeah you can see from the teams body language that they are playing with the right attitude and that's off the back of self belief. Confidence and complacency are two very different beasts and confidence is so important for Rugby League players...I am happy for them to believe that they have turned a corner.

Yup i think if we do end up having a successful season in 2017 our Roosters win will be called significant. On paper just such a star studded team and to beat them when they were undefeated and away was a great effort. Definately something to build on

Interesting fact. Manly do not have one player in the starting forward pack that has played 100 games. Must be the most inexperienced pack in the NRL.

Taupau has played 105 games, 89 NRL and 16 rep (14 with kiwis, 1 all stars and 1 samoa)

Frankenstein also has over 100 games of rugby leage

If the weather is fine, any crowd below 15k at Brookie will be disappointing.
I'll be shocked if we pull 12 or 13k. Nobody wants to attend games it seems. Or now that they're showing promise....interesting game today nevertheless. Beautiful day too!
C'mon Manly.
