Nathan Brown

I think Brown might prove a few people wrong.

I guess time will tell, but I don’t mind the signing if true.
Hope this ages as well at this point of the season, as it does into our semi finals campaign.

Interesting reading here from some posters. A lot of hatred towords him, but I think his aggression is what we were missing.

Brown as the main man in the middle just makes our team look so much better. He's faster. It's more aggressive. He punches holes. He can actually ball play. But his leadership guiding Navale non stop on the weekend. It's just beautiful to watch. The bloke makes all our other forwards look like 3rd graders. And I mean all our other forwards.

I reckon our team needs to hold onto Lodge. When Browns adding this much. How superior a fit Lodge would be over the rest up front.

As long as Lodge isn't another part timer due to injuries - we have enough cap pressure via that

Lodge was so destructive from the first instant he hit the field in 2023 and lifted the team immediately
I am concerned his injury with this latest long term especially a problem, but he won't die wondering and has plenty of guts so will rip and tear without concern and if came back to recapture that early form, this Manly pack at full strength will go with any NRL team imo

Where are those "so called" experts.. go back and read your posts and hang your head in shame.. there was only a handful of people seeing the positive on his signing... and hasn't it paid off.
Yep i thought it was a headscratcher. He honestly looked washed last year. He was a physical player and father time looked to have gotten the better of him.

But happy I've been wrong and he has been a breath of fresh air. And in the process, he has become a fan favourite. Go Brownie.

a simple chronology of my opinion of Brown over the past 12 months or so which I am sure is not uncommon.

Grub > Could be handy > Not bad > why is he jogging with the young kids > this guy is good > no he's great > hang on he is brittle > nah he goes ok > he has some penalties in him > he's great > where the hell is he? > apprantly just taking a long run up > I see him at the back fence > He's great....No he's awesome

I like what he has added but wondering how long it will last physically as he seems to be locked in mentally and knows his role. The 80 minute effort the other week was impressive.

@Jay Eagle I think there was more than a handful of posters who could see what Brown would bring to us. These posts below from August 2022 for example.....

Get a couple of mongtrel dogs in the forwards who are on their last chance to turn their careers forward. I'd suggest Tavita Pangsi Jr and Nathan Brown. Break them down over summer and bring their headspace focused. We need some forward grunt.

Klemmer would do me mate.....even Nathan Brown. I reckon they both still have a lot to offer & maybe a change would do them the world of good. Klemmer would make our pack mouth watering.
Klemmer, ???, Aloiai, Olakau'atu, Tuilagi, Jake.......Paseka, Keppie, Sipley + Tuitavake, Fifita, Sykes, Roumanos!!!!!!!

Yep Nathan Brown still has a lot to offer. Parra probably has the best back row in the competition, and the most mobile forwards as well. That's what's keeping him out of the Parra seventeen. We should have a serious go at him, if he could be picked up at a reasonable price. Klemmer would be good, but we can't afford him.

What's with so many posters on this site wanting to either dictate how others post, or enjoy calling out others for opinions 6-9 months old?

This is my first post in this thread, for the record, I was wrong on my thoughts about the Brown signing which I'm sure I posted in other threads.

@Jay Eagle ....it just toxic posting tbh, and completely unnecessary.

Yes, it's pretty dramatic to hang your head in shame because you thought a player was past it and it turned out they had some good football left in them...hardly shame worthy. It's just a harmless opinion and quite frankly, I am happy to be proven wrong by Brown because I am a Manly supporter and he is playing good footy for us. Further, having an opinion does not mean one thinks they're an expert.

Actually not toxic or dramatic.. if you look at it from the "other" side of reality..
I'm just pointing out that as Manly Sea Eagles "supporters" we shouldn't be so quick to bag out players that we sign.. give them some support and encouragement and look at it with "the glass half full" mentality.
The players are human after all and I'm sure that every one of them wants to be a star not a dud.

Telling other posters to "hang their heads in shame" is not toxic, and is just you pointing out posters need to be more positive towards the players?
Calling them "so called experts"....also not toxic?

Lol. Ok then.
