Would one of the buffs (either history or English) amongst us please explain why a place you sit is called a stand?
The VaveRose stand?
The John Hopoate Stand with chocolate fingers on every seat.
What about the 3M or Martin-Martin-Martin Stand? For Ian Martin, Steve Martin and Martin Meredith?I'd call it the Lyon Lyons stand.
But they'll probably go with the Peter Peters stand.
