How I see it so far.

1. Tom turbo - we all know he's class. Speed, power and Broken feild running all top draw. Defence a work in progress, needs to Marshall his troops and talk more from the back but that will come in time. Put him in a top 5 side and he would be running in hat tricks weekly.

2. Tafua - where can I start. Power is his middle name. Should put the absolute fear of god in opposition wide men but it never really gets there. Has ticker to run out from own line but Lazy at times, clumsy at others and let's not speak of the high ball. His defence is a real problem in my eyes. I think having shoulders matai inside has masked his deficiencies up until now. If you have a guy inside you that the opposition are afraid of (afraid of getting chopped in half that is) then you don't have to think much. For the last year he's been poor overall.

3. Kelly - has real promise for such a young kid. Knows how to break the line and get the ball down. Will only get better.

4. Walker - can the real Dylan Walker please stand up? A lost year at 5/8 has done no favours for him. Looks to have lost his way and forgotten what made him great a few years back. I don't see him as a thinker. He needs real structure and the guys inside him putting it on a plate in space.

5. Uate - I was sceptical on this buy but apart from a stupid drop last week I think he's been solid. Still has pace and is evasive as hell. Could be a real good buy.

6.green - 'what the **** did I do leaving melbourne' will be ringing in his mind right now. A very solid and promising player who will only get better. Still a good buy.

7.cherry - still struggling on a hangover from last year. Is a quality player and probably worth the money he gets if he clicks again. Has anyone noticed that his form and structure has broken down under this current regime. Just don't think it's working.

8.insert name here - lawerence, AFB, Perret but in all honesty Lussick should walk back into this position once fit. We need his mongral and aggression now.... lawerence has been above average, AFB looking like a mack truck with legs and should only get better but he needs to engage the brain a bit more.

9. Api - not a fan at all. Has a huge ticker and really solid defence but that's about it. His work from dummy half is slow, misdirected and sloppy.

10. Kapow - a beast that needs to think a bit more if possible. Puts the fear into the opposition and has a great work rate. With Lussick could form a killer front row.

11. Frank W. Hasn't shown much yet. Been a passenger in my view.

12. Sironen - has promise and could be another gifty if used correctly. Problem is I don't think the brains trust has the ability to do it.

13. Jake T - heart and soul of this side. Gives 100% every minute he's on the park. A future manly great.

14. Myles - solid and unspectacular. Underrated in defence but not offering much in attack. Time to call it me thinks.

The rest -
Cullen looks nippy and handy. Would like to see hime starting hooker.
Hastings - no opinion as of yet.
Lane - big edge runner who needed some time on the park.

The coaching staff - F - just can't see what they are trying to do. We have no structure to attack and defence is well look at today. Haven't seen cartwright so far this year but I feel we are looking good more and more like his very mediocre gold Coast side every day.
Barrett while he looks passionate just seems to be lacking that sparkle that some coaches have....

Problem is if we fire him now who comes in? I can't see anyone on the open market that gives me a wow feeling.

Lots on here will disagree but I feel hasler is still our best option if he becomes available. He doesn't fit at the dogs and his structure is something players like cherry,Walker and green need.

The roster we have is a lot better than we are playing under the current brains trust.

I hope that turn around and prove all of the above wrong but I'm not hopeful.

Where is our backline spark? Where is the little kick over the top? The trick shot? The sweeping scrum movement? Surely between Cherry and Twenty we should be able to do better than dying with the ball for five tackles then booting the ball as far upfield as possible. There two are backline masters, aren't they?
We just don't have any backline structure. It was the same last year, but we did buy three new backs. We now have sufficient speed to hurt teams like Souffs. And it looked promising for the first 12 minutes. But when the opposition is gifted so much possession and penalties then it was obvious our makeshift forwards would not be able to hold Souffs.

Best thing that can happen is the Dogs keep losing so therefore don't offer Des a new contract and he ends up back at Manly.
His recruitment hasn't been too good at the Dogs. Don't forget he persisted with She-Rex for four seasons. And he punted Ennis for Lichaa.
