I know a quick way we could shed 1.3 mil. You guessed it I'm not a big fan of his as it was pretty much the start of our demise.
Like Elvis who still works at Coles Double Bay.
Foran deserves a large amount of blame. Sold himself as the genuine old school bloke and said one thing to management and did the opposite. ****wit! And if you know your recent Sea Eagles history you would know that Cherry wasn't actually responsible for it. Yes he signed the contract for that much money.....who wouldn't? Would you have knocked it back in his position? The money he was eventually offered basically has set his family up for life.
Just remember that he was all set to re-sign at the end of 2014 for just $700,000 until the Penn's, on advice from Uncle Zorba who was close to the senior plays clique who blamed DCE for the club not having the money to re-sign Gifty, decided to pull the contract offer and put all their eggs in the Foran basket not knowing that he had already made up his mind that he was leaving after the Gifty affair.
Every man and his dog knew Foran was going to leave and join Choc at Doesn't-matta (most actually believe he signed with them shortly after the end of the 2014 season). Everyone it seems except Manly management. By the time they realised they had been led up the garden path (i.e. when Foran announced he had signed with the Eels), Cherry had already signed with the Titans. The club was desperate, but also had to offer more than what the Titans were to make it worth his while. DCE's manager knew that and milked it for all it was worth.
Yes I do agree that I don't believe he is worth $1.3 million a season. I think he is worth more around $900k at best. But it was poor management by the club (ring a bell? Poor management has been the club theme under the Penn's ownership) and not DCE demanding more money that caused this situation.
Not denying any of that but just believe if you pay any player that amount of money for 8 years then there is no hunger for that player to better himself. It's pretty much turns the company into a retirement village. I'm bewildered why these players get the same pay packet win lose or draw Where's the will to win That's why you see players who have just been flogged laughing and socialising with the opposition players on the field after the game. I really hate thatAnd if you know your recent Sea Eagles history you would know that Cherry wasn't actually responsible for it. Yes he signed the contract for that much money.....who wouldn't? Two quality halves for the price of one. What a bargainI know a quick way we could shed 1.3 mil. You guessed it I'm not a big fan of his as it was pretty much the start of our demise.
Sporting News - LOL. About as much credibility as the Iraqi information minister during the gulf war
Also separate idea but if Tom and Jake are picked for origin how on earth do we field a team?
Seen him having quinellas at Harold Park trots a few times in the early 2000's.
Both would add up to 550k, but you wouldn’t release Hastings now. And who would want Poo ?Lewis Brown, or Jackson Hastings?
Ours or theirs? Who TF wrote that contract with Myles? I have never heard of anything like it.Baz should name Myles and Lussick each week just to highlight the idiocy
