Mitchell Pearce Aus Day Scandal

coke use is so widespread that the cops don't include it in their roadside drug testing as they are aftraid of taking most drivers off the road particurly in Liberal areas such as the northern beaches and eastern suburbs

Whether pearce is suspended for at least 12 months wll come down to whether the NRL is stronger than politis.

if Pearce does not receive at least 12 months ban from NRL then Politis has won the battle of who runs the NRL My money is on Grant having his pants down around his ankles

Sadly we all know who runs the show and it isnt Grant!!

The Rorters have been a law unto themselves for years now, clearly the cap is just the three letters that starts the word cappuccino and nothing else.

Yep, swept under the carpet and back playing after the obligatory 6-8 weeks rehab to appease the media.

Really have to wonder at what motivates some of the Pearce apologists.
This is not a complex issue (despite the red-herrings thrown up by the Pearce apologists), there are only 2 sides!

One side has Mitchell Pearce (with a prior history of harassing a female when drunk) supported by good ole mate Liam Roach (google 'Drunkest man in Thailand')

The other side has a woman who didn't want to put up with obnoxious drunken Pearce in her own home.

Both camps have merit (lol), but really they are the only two sides in this sorry affair. Choose one.

I refuse to take either side. There are issues on both sides that i support. Mitchell is clearly in the wrong, and i in no way stick up for his actions

My belief is that these are real issues that should not be ignored but this conversation does nothing to assist moving forward to resolve anything. This public clap trap is only in play to assit return on investment for those paying for stories, and is morally unjust

All the soapboxes in world wont change a thing

I said as much the other day, whilst in no way condoning the actions I'm sure all this **** happened years ago and never made public until social media comes along.

The media love it, they absolutely adore it, the hits and clicks go through the roof and those miserable bastards will milk it for every click they can.

While its true, it reflects the miserable bastards that keep clicking. What are they searching for

That may be the case but the world has changed, you can't go back so try have to deal with the reality of the world as it is. Adapt and change. That's the basis of life. They can't cling to how it used to because it's not.

Wow, we are certainly are a bunch of judgemental souls. Mitchells behaviour was not classy, and he probably needs some grounding in life from people close to him, certainly not the internet or a news site.

Many women would appreciate the support while many others would say i can handle my own ****, im no shrinking violet, step off as this is a form of sexism as well , believing the woman must be protected, she may be able to handle this herself.very little has be heard from the woman and i presume this is by her choice. Does anyone know how she actually feels . This constant barrage does not help the victim one little bit, when essentially on here its not about equality its about another footy team.issues shouldnt overlap

There are so many issues in the world, weather change, poverty, war, a deadly virus and this has dominated headlines for days because as a nation of sad sapping do gooders, people keep clicking. Somehow this is important. Lets get some perspective and move on and let people get back to their lives,

This is not really our business although the societal issue surely is and wont be tackled by feeding the media dollars by constantly clicking on. The medias job is not to inform but to make money and we are feeding the trolls.

If you have a passion to see change there are many avenues to persue this . Chest beating and smashing eachother is achieving nothing positive but fostering a really poor part of our society. You may think your intentions are good and they probably are but all you are really doing is promoting a culture in australia that fixes nothing but lines meadia pockets. This will ensure more of the same in the future.

With elec news sites its now very easy for them to determine what brings people back.its really sad for our country that this is the stuff that makes us click. Is this the male version of womans weekly. Have i just committed a sexist crime by saying that. Who knows. Judge me

we have so much to be thankful for in this country but still choose to run people down to make us feel better. He has acted poorly and he will feel the impact, but are we part of the punishment
Tend to agree with you on this.
We still have people playing in the nrl who have bashed there partners or have assaulted people yet we want to end the career of someone who has made a goose of himself.
What he is going through now is enough punishment, maybe evan throw in a fine and suspension but sack him please.

I'm just very glad that society is full of so many perfect humans who have never got on the turps and acted like a bit of a dick before. I can sleep easy tonight. What a perfect society we live in.
Yep.... Let me think... When was the last time I had a few, harassed a girl who didn't want to know, pissed on her sofa & tried to root her dog. Happens all the time. 🙂

Ugggh not in the mood for a big disscussion

So the short version is if you live in the public eye and are going to act a jerk you deserve the be filmed

If you dont like that tradeoff for the money, adoration and millions of other benefits then go with be a celebrity them go be an accountant

And don't give me privacy, private party etc because when you disrespect the people who invited you into their home than you leave yourself open

Essentally if Pearce acts like a decent guy then no filming, no story, no problem

This is on Pearce, not this kid
The person who made public the name and photo of the guy who video'd the incident is just as bad as him.

No he is worse. Lowlife

As i said we have a difference of opinion on the matter. I hardly think what he did was the crime of the century. I am not bothered getting into a debate with someone on the internet about it. I am more outraged with things that deserve it. i.e. players who bash women etc.
Yeah I guess I share your concern about people who bash women and I'd be concerned about people who rape women, or abuse women in other ways.

And a cultural lack of respect for women's rights to experience their own body, possessions, freedoms, etc directly leads to an increase in all of these acts of abuse. Pearce displayed this cultural lack of respect in spades. And his oafish mates either sat by effectively condoning it, or actively encouraged it. And every time you, I, or Pearce's mates OK that type of behaviour we normalise abuse of women - and make it more likely that bashings, rapes and other forms of abuse will happen. And every time you or I point the finger at the victim, we disempower them further.

Exactly. It's the right of every man to get drunk and bully and abuse people (usually women) behind closed doors and it's a very low act to try to make this public. I wonder if Mitch can sue that scumbag who filmed him?

I think you need to repeat year 1 comprehension class if that's your interpretation of what I said.

If he didn't make such a dick of him self maybe see wouldn't of pushed him away. i noticed she asked one of the other blokes to stay almost pleaded with him. probably needed help cheering up the poor abused dog.

You say you don't take a side but you have, in effect. By telling us we shouldn't be talking about it, haven't you aligned yourself with the side which says it's no big deal, leave Mitch alone?

Worse, you attack people who are interested to follow the story, all "the miserable bastards that keep clicking" as you put it. You think we should be thinking and talking about something else.

By the way, who exactly are you to tell us what we should think about? Now you want thought police? (I'm sure you don't but that seems the thrust of your logic)

And you know what, maybe the story resonates because nearly everyone's had to deal with or at least has witnessed first-hand the impact of drunk men at some stage?
