I think Chee Kam is very error prone and doesn’t run good lines. He like to step into defenders and I like hard running edge forwards that hit holes.

Nah,not error prone,better defender than Ben at this point(Ben is still developing though)
He is not a hole running second rower,agreed,but can't say I see him stepping into defenders,he is a pretty good decoy runner and works hard off the ball,like Lawton.
For me at this point BenT is a better bench player,we seem to be going ok at left edge with Lawton who is more a defender,hit up guy,than hole runner.
Not saying he will be a star,but we have some average players behind Ola and Lawton.

I can see why people are sceptical,in saying that I think Seibold has done well with Waddell,Brown,Talau and Simpkin this year,so if he wants Chee Kam I will refrain from poo pooing it right now.

Its hard not be underwhelmed with this signing but we just have to see how things unfold. We need more second row depth and Chee Kam is that.

Is he replacing Waddell? Is Condon or Matterson getting tapped on the shoulder? We just don’t know who he’s replacing in the squad at the minute.

If he’s back end of the roster depth, fine whatever every club has ordinary players like chee kam in the squad. If he’s going to be relied upon as a key depth piece or in the 17 week in week out hard pass.

I’d like to think he doesn’t stop us from making another signing at second row that at the very least can push burbo for a starting job. Just got to see how things shake out.

I don’t think Chee Kam will be a guy that’s in the side every week, more just a decent depth signing that can get the job done if we have injuries. Lawton already gone to cows & Parker will probably go to tigers or England after this season so the squad will be light on back rowers. Parra apparently are giving him permission to leave so I think Ryan Matterson would be worth the chance if they were paying half his salary

Chee Kam turns 33 in February, which would explain the 1 year deal, I guess.
I was hoping Manly would sign a player aged around mid-20s who might develop into a real keeper. Cheeks would be more of a temporary gap-filler signing. New nickname, Selleys?

However, as you say - plenty here thought inviting Brown on a train and trial was a bad joke, and Talau the reserve grader from the wooden spooners was also widely derided, so yeah, Seibold's recruitment team definitely have a few credit points in the bank.

Yeah. You're right that would be a genius signing.

While we are at it let's sign Harry Grant, Payne Haas and Joey Manu. I'm sure we can afford them.
