Meehan - sink or swim

This massive unit has huge potential.
Also a track record of poor discipline and lack of commitment.
2017 is make or break....he either cracks it, or will disappear like so many others who have the gift, but lack the attitude to make it happen.
In truth this story could go either way....I back him in and could be the success story of the season imo.
What's the opinions - sink or swim?

We have a reasonably good pack with Lussick, Taupau, AFB, J.T. Lawrence (if he's still got it), Sironen, Brown (a forward not a back ever again), Parcell, Koriosau, Myles (if he doesnt fall asleep), as well as the young guns Jamil H. and Bainbridge. With that much talent around him, including a few wise heads, he's got all the supports he needs to reach his potential

It would have been nice to have an old hard head like Matagi just in case. But we broke dog. I'll go swim, but not convinced he won't go under a few times, sink to the bottom and need saving at least once, tread water for a bit, dog paddle, but after a couples years he might swim reasonably well.

Could be a make or break year for a number of manly players

I think this is where myles has his biggest chance to help out next year

While you can't ignore his own personal form last year, the guy is a hardened professional rugby league forward and one bloody tough nut who other players always seem to mention in high praise

If he can't do it himself, the role will be to instill in others on what it takes to succeed and leave his legacy for the future with these youngsters

Here's hoping

I can't see him mucking up with his dad on our payroll as head of team security and a regular trainer..
His dad can still throw down and I'm sure the constant reminder of 'dads discipline' should keep him in check to focus on footy :praying:

I really hope he turns it around, but have a bad feeling about Meehan.

This could be Myles great chance to actually provide some value to Manly and mentor this bloke.

Hope I am wrong and the kid excels, but I think he will be a "what if" story.

Will go good up and until he is offered more money to get back in the boxing ring. Boxing fans can correct me but I think he is an Australian title holder and undefeated heavyweight.

But if committed to RL, then I say swim.

I'm tempting fate but I feel that Meehan has turned things around from a personal point of view. He looks to have taken a similar path to what SBW has with his faith etc (they hang around similar circles as well), so hopefully he realises talent only gets you so far and you need to be smart off field to have any sort of longevity in this game.

I think he will be a nice surprise next year. Can't wait for him to do a job on Gallen...........if only the no punch rule wasn't around! Seriously I think he's gonna be great for us!
