The one on one strip after people drop off is a stupid rule. Why we have all these momentum changing rules that offer no repayment for building pressure im not sure. It also slows the play the ball down way too much when it’s attempted.

melbourne will wrestle their way into the top 4 again unless refs are willing to get to double digits in penalties.

We dropped too much ball. Defence looked strong. Attack looks promising. I’m happy enough.

Cherry evans was so so bad today... out played by old man sCam. Not 1 repeat set..

Des got the tactics wrong today. Way to much play in the forwards.

Why did we not use our backline?

We had no ruck speed or quick play the balls. Melbourne defence all over us

Our attack and last tackle options were disappointing. The defence and effort was there but we lacked creativity from our halves.

I thought we were pretty solid, we always start slow, our defense was good, attack will improve.


We have a tough 4 week start, i hate to think what we will be like if we are 1-3

Not too disappointed in the game, the second try was pot luck and it was all over by then, we defended well but attack definitely needs some work, like it or not it seems Walker at 5/8 is our only real option so he needs to inject himself more and take the pressure off Daly. I expect Daly to improve also.

Didn’t deserve to win this one. Storm had the chances and won the ruck. They don’t beat themselves. Their little men all have high game IQ and they keep bringing in quality big men. Their no names are all solid. We got weak links like Taufua and fillers like Morgan Boyle.

Manly played really well most of that game. Every time we got on a roll finucane had a bleed and there was a break! He should have been off the first time.

boyle better than last year. Levi was missed when he went off.

It's just losing to the biggest wrestling team with a biggest ref whisperer (who still holds sway) is always hard to take.

They did lay all over us. Our ruck speed was very very slow, and last year all our attack came from quick play the balls and off loads and when fainu was being creative

Fainu is such a big loss.. iv been watching last seasons games and he is an offloading machine and a tackle busting machine. He is so elusive and slick.. now we lose all that. So unlucky letting api go then losing fainu to stupidity. Fml that game was average. Dce was terrible! Levi did good for his 1st game, his attempted try early in the 1st pissed me off he killed the momentum and our set ended poorly.

Des had definitely improved our defence but at no time did we look like scoring a try today...
It's a big concern cause individual brilliance may win you games but it ain't gonna win you a title... you have to be able to pose questions to a set defensive line and I just didn't see that happening at all today...
I know we made a lot of mistakes today and we will most likely win more games than we lose this year imo but, unless things change, that will only be because of cr*p defensive structures in some teams... we wont beat the top teams with those attacking structures...

I thought we looked a lot better than a lot of other teams this week. Cam controlled that second half and we made too many errors. But the storm just got away with wrestling, it was so slow. No off loads, Tommy didn't run from dummy half, Suli didn't get enough chances, storm just wrestled and used the conditions well.

Really missed fainu, so much came off the back of him last year coming off the bench.

All there tries did come from kicks, our D was pretty good, so felt in slow motion with the ball

For a team with only one warm up match, guys coming back from surgery and no game time, plus losing our hookers, I am proud of that first round effort. We will only get stronger and better. Refs stop the wrestle and we have better ball control, different game.
