Since you mentioned blown off for pace .....
Hoppa Harper and the lethargic no urgency Funa are not the answer for a more dynamic back line rebuild.
Parker was great defensively today but unless he gets a pass near the try line to run through a gap he does not have the speed or the agility to run around players and score a longer range try
Lets face it ....How many NRL cubs would the above players break into ?
Croker - ?????? Say no more
Today all those players played their last home match of the year . A game for all those players to step up and all we got was what they were capable of which was not enough to compete at a high level and as a result another thrashing .
Losing is bad enough to take but another thrashing at home is Not Manly .
Some passenger players are sinking the Manly Titanic and Des will go down with it if he does not remove them
Tom was underdone . first game in so many months and his turbo timing was completely out .

I too noticed his timing was way off as well. If he was in professional wrestling they'd say he had ring rust.

Sounds like he might have done his rotator cuff though which is definitely not good news.

Also to all those whinging about DCE's post game 'apprent disgrace' I've just watched it again. You should try too.....
He was for 95% of it chatting and shaking hands quietly. He cracked 2 small smiles directly at opposite players while shaking hands. It was the GC player that bounced up to him with some sort of funny story that prompted the joke event....should he have told him to **** off? The bloke was trying to walk away when it happened.

You can't compare us against a melbourne type club built to succeed by the games powerbrokers. One team City. New stadium. Big membership. Etc etc etc.
We are continually under the pump to be relocated. We train out of demountable offices. We dont have the finances we once did. We go ok considering we are running a 200m against the storm who only need to run 100m.
A lot of excuses in that lot. 13 players run out on to the field and none of that stuff should matter.

The good news is he has the off season to recover
I guess after those Manly thrashings us fans will take the off season to recover as well

If he's done a rotator cuff then may not be playing next season. I've done two off them... Never got full strength back & rips off again are common.

Difference is that through the club and NRL, Tom would have access to the best surgeons in town, the best physio etc. But yeah, a rotator cuff injury is never good. In a lot of ways you're better off just dislocating your shoulder.

This is just about the low point of this season. I really thought today that Manly would put in a decent effort as the Titans are really improving their team.

What I saw unfold infront of me is Manly effectively gifting the Titans 24 points from unforced errors, absolutely non attention to detail and again we are found wanting as soon as any acid is put on our defence.

OK, so we had a good start, the try was well constructed by DCE and it should have been the catalyst for a good performance, what did we get for the next 30 minuts, penalties, errors, intercepts, indiscipline with and without the ball.

Their first try is criminal, we had up to 4 guys turn their back on the play and they took advantage and scored the most embarrasing try. Remember the source of this try came as our 6 overcooked the kick on the last after having all day to get it right and we clocked off. Game changer right there!

The next bit was about us avoiding conceding again and inevitably they score in the corner and the again. Another try comes from an intercept where we are forcing the play and credit to DCE who ran down the guy and then our defence falls apart as we concede from the next ruck. Writing on the wall.

We get one try back before half time and have another chance only to give up the ball when we are right on their line through indiscipline in the play the ball.

The second half starts and you hope for a good start, what did we do? We conceded 3 tries on the first 15 minutes and the game was up. Tom's rustiness was on show as he needed to knock the grubber dead and he had no luck with the bounce of the ball for another try and then the pathetic defence concedes back to back tries and we are being annihilated 12-40.

We nab a couple of consolation tries which means the scoreline flatters us in a big way.

I have to say that DCE did so much for us, he trys and trys and he is consistently let down by our feeble 6 and 9 options.

The character the side showed from rounds 1-6 is light years away and they fold so easily everytime they deal with adversity.

Our weaknesses again dealing with kicks killed us and the lake of urgency at times really showed how lethargic this effort was.

It is clear that for far too long the team has passengers that we carry. For the life of me, I do not understand why Waddell is being picked when he has decided to move and we have a budding back rower in Oka itching for a chance. It makes no sense at all. Des persists with Croker and today we saw his shortcomings. His passing game and kicking game are woeful and he did nothing to support DCE today. Levi has limited ability and our options at 9 are a huge problem.

There is going to be a clean out, its inevitable and so important that good decisions are made for 2021. We cannot affort to carry safe failing players and this is going to be the real test for Des if he is coach to get the best out of the players who are young and committed to our cause.

Efforts like today need to be a distant memory and we need to see some pride return to the Maroon and white jersey. Today at times it was surrender!

What really stood out for me was the tries conceded from turn overs, on the counter they smashed us and if they had kicked straight and not had 2 tries disallowed we would have been totally humilated.

Well Des needs to make the calls now. Its certain that AFB wanted out a while back and its been hidden.

We need some experienc in our 6 and 9 if we are to be any threat next year, Fainu is not a player we can rely on till minimum August next year unless he is exonorated from the alleged crime.

Interesting times ahead and we wait for decisions to be made.

2020 is a year to forget in many ways!!

Rotator Cuff is 3 to 6 months depending on the severity.

FMD we can’t catch a break this year ......

I’d be interested to know if AFB and Haumole were even at the game. Does anyone know?

Rotary cuff is not that bad, I have done two exactly the same as Tom, one was scoring a try with arm fully out stretched and landing on it, the second was attempting a diving tackle arm out stretched. Both times were partial tears. I was heavily involved in gym and was very knowledgeable with rehab and strengthening. Specialist recommend surgery but I choose to strengthen the shoulder without it and after 6-8 weeks was pressing again. I regained complete strength and was able to lift even more weight in years after. I can still bench over 100 kilos comfortably now and I'm 40 and have no issues. I'm very confident Tommy with his resources to physical therapy and trainers he will be fine. It's a very common injury that can happen with impact. Some people are more lucky as they genetically have more room in the ball and socket joint between the bone and tendon. Sometimes you can just put pressure on the tendon or nerve and get a burner or do some small damage but looking at him it doesn't look too bad, real bad and you cannot move your arm at all, he was just restricted moving above horizontal and over head. He will be ok, still more worried about hammies. They can be chronic especially with such an explosive runner

affirmative for haumole as he was 18th man and warmed up with the team. I was in Bozo/ Beaver stand so from a distance I couldn’t tell if the gangsta was there. All I know there were a heap of blokes on crutches.

Nothing funny about this feathered friend
We are all pissed off on here,,,,,,
*The Gold Coast Titans have made club history with its biggest ever total in the NRL in a 42-24 demolition at lottoland *

DCE gives his all.
And is a damn good player.

It is bloody fustrating though, as a fan, when you see your players treating the footy as a job, so openly and in your face.

It is 2020 though, not 1980, and times have changed.....it's harder for us older fans to change with it, especially when times are tough.
The reality is Mave that although they play for the team, the club means more to us fans than it does to the players. It is their job plain and simple. Certainly acknowledge the Turbos and local juniors but this club means more to us than it does to them. Why else do we congregate in this space week in and week out? We all love this team even tho we all share different views. Heck if 17 of us had the skill and ability to play the game at first grade standard, we’d be in a far better situation than this lot.
