And that's part of the problem. He's a one position player or nothing. He's not a winger or a ball playing type who could play 5/8 or fullback. And TBH he's simply not tough enough to be a forward.

And with the likes of Funa, Hopoate, Suli and even Walker, we have better centre options when players are actually fit.

I defended DCE for years but after the last few games I am questioning him. He cannot manage a game to save his life. I would rather Brooks on 500k and have another 700k spare to pay harry grant or someone that can manage a game. DCE as captain should have told the players to quit the crazy offloads and expansive footy in our own half when we are up by 14 with ten to go till halftime, instead we are throwing stupid passes and risky offloads its just dumb and its not how Manly have built our success. Defence is laughable and in the second half with 20 to go we get momentum Levi was going ok and Des rotates to Croker at hooker????? what the F for??????? its just madness.

Let's face it, we weren't going to make the 8. We can now enjoy watching these youngsters in the next few rounds.

But why did it take so long for our coach to blood these blokes. Harper and Schuster were great without any match fitness, not so sold on Hoppa. Our players have never been dropped, most were forced out by injury, yet our coach uses the same players over and over again.

Worse still, DCE was the player throwing stupid passes at exactly the wrong time. When the Tigpies scored before half time, I knew it would cost us, because it's cost us virtually every game this year. Even with a big lead, our inability to defend means the opposition is always a chance. The only way for us to win is by holding onto the ball. So hold onto the ****ing ball.

This game showed again what injuries in the backline mid game can do. Jorge goes off, a forward goes to centre and that’s where they targeted their attack as well as the inexperienced Hoppa/Harper side. This week Jorge, last week Garrick, week before Suli, before that Parker.

Next 3 weeks is about giving the young guys more game time. Instead of a hooker on the bench we need a utility who can cover backs/halves and maybe Shuster is that player for next season or Cust to bench and Shoo to start. Harper seems to have speed and Hoppa will come good as he gets more match fitness.

We have the worst backline in the NRL and it's not a close run thing either. It's by the length of the straight. Every team knows if you just attack us out wide, you're bound to rack up 5 or 6 tries.

At least I only have 3 more weeks of this crap to endure. The Warriors will put 50 on us.

I wholeheartedly agree, our pack is strong but severely lacking in a quality dummy half that can provide good service when required and make the right decisions at the right time.

Reality is we gambled on Fainu and lost. It's not the first time and won't be the last, we aren't the first team to suffer this fate, nor will we be the last but how we address it moving forward into next season and beyond will really provide grounds for whether Des' style and the criticism is warranted.

Early in the game some on here were praising Levi, and TBH I couldn't for the life of me work out why. Most of his passes were head high, and there was one time in the first half that we had a line out to the left with an overlap ... and Levi decided to run it to the right. For a dummy half who has played test football, the guy has zero football intelligence.

Hopefully Fainu is back in 2021 because Levi has been a big part of the problem this year with his 3rd grade dummy half play.

Anyone who says Brad Parker is a winger needs to put themselves into drug rehab. Every time he plays on the wing, he looks like he's lost at sea.

Parker isn't a wingers asshole but look how he became the most improved player in the competition when Des put him in his preferred position.

Parker was playing wing out of necessity when Jorge went down, the criticism is fair but also unwarranted considering the circumstances - he wasn't trotted out at 2. He filled in as required, not very well but it's not like he's gonna be there next week
