Manly v Roosters Rd 9 (pre game discussion)

Its only Tuesday and at least the best available 5/8 in the team, is in the 21.And by naming Walks at 5/8 he maybe trying to confuse the Rorters not to mention the "experts" on here ,i.e give us room to fill a few pages of expert commentary and indepth analysis of team selections?

I mean Walker would add not much more to the position that what poor old Lachie C did (god rest his soul),while definitely weakening the center position so I smell and am desperately hoping for a ruse here .I mean you want the least disruption possible in all positions seeing as we aren't going so well .Therefore I think Hasting will play 5/8 and if he really is keen on giving Suli a go put him on the wing instead of Wright or Uate because you can bet he will be a special to get a few high balls on Sunday
Goo Manly

This is just strange but it's TB decision and he will wear the consequences
Firstly he said last week he would not move API to weakened our nine position , great but haven't you just been hypocritical there in as TB has weakened our centers by moving walker to 6.

It did not work in 2016 so why try it again.

I feel for DCE he is getting no help from TB , he can't do it all on his own.

Finally if this was the dragons and TB was coaching and this was the same situation he faced he would have no hesitation bringing in Hastings , why because he cares and loves the red V like tooves loves manly.

The issues that have gone on with Hastings are obviously far greater than what has been mentioned, because without a doubt he would have been locked in to take the position after Croker went down.

So if Hastings was never going to be picked who would be the better fit to play 5/8th? Api, Tom Wright? Possibly.

It seems to look like Barrett was desperate to get Suli into the side and the fact that he can shift a player who has played 5/8th before (albeit poorly with no kicking game and a limited passing game - in essence like Croker), to accomodate him has led to this side being named.

Not sure if I agree with it, but if Hastings was never really a consideration there really wasn’t too many other options.

Having just seen the team announced for Sunday kind of gives me apprehension about our chances. I do not understand why you would put Dylan at 5/8 when he is not effective playing there. I would rather Manly go for Hasting on the bench rather than Brown and I think the wrong Wright is in the team. It is TBs neck on the block here. If things do not improve this next week or two he has to make the changes or he is done in my book as coach!!

He lied about the team casting Hastings out, he refuses to pick him while the boys continue to turn up and support him, even going to games. Barrett refuses to speak about it. Its blatantly obvious Barrett has something against Hastings.
Sadly I wish it wasn't true and TB was bigger than this but he is certainly got agenda here.

We were never going to win this game but this will result in a flogging.Anyone who saw Suli last week knows he is not ready. So overweight. Suli will be playing right Centre if they keep Kelly on left. That means he will mark Mitchell if my heated brain is correct. Is Barrett kidding?!!!!

There is certainly truth to some of the team not wanting him. Interesting to hear from Jake at 5.30 on Fox Sports given their below tweet:

@SeaEagles name Jackson Hastings on the bench for clash with @sydneyroosters but going by Jake Trbojevic’s response he’s not a welcome addition and won’t play!
Get the latest on that and a possible Moses Suli return on #NRLTonight 5:30pm aest @FOXSportsNews

I feel for DCE he may be a cause of this but he is getting no help from TB , he can't do it all on his own.

Why would Chez be the cause @

Jacko has a history at 3 Clubs of being a spoiler, Baz clearly stated the length Manly went to by calling in the NRL and RLPA and only months after that intervention 'the final straw' of Jacko attacking Chez at training resulted in his banishment to reserves @

That is pretty serious and potentially defamatory allegation, so can you please take a couple of minutes to post a link verifying where Barrett says this. I make this request because I have followed most of the stories published about the Hastings saga and haven't heard anything from Barrett about the team casting Hastings out.

Get on the Roosters to win 13+ and L. Mitchell to score first try as he will run over the top of Suli who is not fit for 1st grade. Walker at 5/8 will be a laughing stock, he has no long kicking game and can't set up his outside backs as he is more of a runner than play maker. I love this team but sometimes I just don't get Barrett. Whats going to be the excuse when we get done by 20 points again? DCE will turn up to the press conference and say "we just need to go back to training and work harder" Press repeat because its the same answer every week.

I don't mind the selection of Suli. It is a decision with an eye to the future. Let him get match fitness in first grade as opposed to reserve grade. We can't do any worse!

What do you think about this ?? Only a crazy theory

TB knows he probably won't last the season , no support from board, totally out of his depth here in the circumstances at present.

He is thinking i will not let the media and everyone else win, I am not going to swallow my pride and say I was wrong and pick Hastings. He is pretty much in a small way doing a des with he saying if I am going to leave this joint let's screw it over in the process.

Now personally I really don't think this case from TB but I could be wrong.

I apologise in advance but I must say that I kinda like the look of this. It probs will be like 2016 again but then again that was Dylan's first season with us. He now knows the structures more and feels more comfortable playing. DCE is more used to doing the organising on his own now. Walker will be protected in defence (weak part of his game) and i'm happy to see how Suli goes (who's been great for reggies this season by all reports). This is an opportunity for change in our side, and it could prove vital for saving our season.

If it goes to **** hopefully Baz won't persist with it though!
I’ve seen two games. He is overweight and did not bust a single tacklie. Mitchell will destroy him.

He is weeks away from competing in first grade.

Must have snared the goat photos off Brown .
