Yes for 3 big boys marty afB and jake cant offload for **** anymore. Jake used to pop it up all the time he just REFUSES to now. We dont have 2nd phase play

That is not what i am referring to, more that there is too much emphasis on offloads and not hitting the line hard and direct at speed trying to punch through the line.

No point having second phase play without an idea what to do next off it, i like second phase play when there are numbers around the offload and it is catch and pass drawing in the outside defenders in.

Popping some random offload out the back to players not really interested and running around in circles is just pointless on slow slippery night tracks like Brookie.

We need a back up fullback pronto... we were a class above the knights the entire second half except we had no strike player to score... put ponga in manlys backline tonite and we score atleast 3 tries.. garrick just dosent show up when he plays 1.. didn't spot him all night and having all the possession in the world dosent mean sh!t if you have no strike fullback doing the damage

Hard to please you.Out of all the team ,you have a problem with the better two of the lot.

I agree with him. Those two, and more so Marty, are not as effective as the stats would have us believe. Yes, they often gain plenty of contact meters, but it's often trundling dancing meters while the defence sets and we all get excited about it. And furthermore, offloading for second phase has been inept. Marty nearly always throws it out the back to players in worst position and covered by the opposition. Tonight he even threw one out the back to nobody and we lost 20m. I totally get where TC is coming from

We deserved a penalty at the end obviously & that’s another match ending call that’s gone against us this season. It doesn’t change the fact we struggle to score points without Turbo and to a lesser degree Dylan. We had plenty of chances but 12 points wasn’t going to be enough. Cust throwing it into the crowd & Cherry throwing a high risk, flat ball to Suli, is indicative of just trying too hard.
It seems like Garrick is the fullback now and defensively, he was much better this week. However, we need him to be an attacking threat as well. Des must coach some scoring plays that involve him and the back rowers and centres. Right now it seems like individual efforts are all we have.
I just hope they maintain the rage into the Dragons next week. Really can’t afford to drop 3 in a row.

From what I can see Elliot is having a personality mismatch otherwise there is no reason be should not be there

I don't mind Elliot in some respects, i see his issues and limitations also, but he does have some effective footwork at the line

I meant our two forwards who are tackling hard and running good metres most games are the least of our problems at the moment.I dont know if anybody else noticed ,but we have ZERO TO NO attack.

Can't blame him he's a winger. He was miles better tonight in D but yeah he offere nothing in attack not that we gave him any room to work with.. he has no passing game whatsoever. We are in big trouble

I agree mate, I'm not blaming him, he should not be named at 1.. he shoulda been on the wing, with Elliot at 1.. If not Elliot, then I dont know who, but garrick isnt the answer

Okay, so we looked much better than last week.

I dont understand all this bagging of DCE - he went out there fired up & copped 10 in the bin for that over-zealous arm grab but when he came back on he not only made some huge tackles, he scored our first try.

He put up bombs that pinned Newcastle in their corners, he kicked into touch to give our boys a break & take Ponga out of play, he tried his heart out & wore his heart on his sleeve.

We look a tad rusty, which is to be expected considering Tom & Walker are out.

I thought Garrick had a much better game at FB today, Paseka has finally started hitting the line with aggression, Cust had a great game apart from that pass, Funa cleaned up some dangerous kicks & made some good metres.

Cust has to be starting 5/8th, with Croker at #14 to spell Levi.

The attack is always going to be an issue missing players, but our go forward sets lack direct speed and punch in general which is making it worse, slow leg speed and skipping footwork don't cut it.

Got what we deserved.

Wow our DCE is struggling. Just zero game management. His kicking game just so so poor. Cant do a repeat set to save himself. But even his long kicking game, we know he has a massive boot, so if 40 m out why powder puff 20 metre kicks? instead of hang time bombs that land 5 metres out?

I guess we did actually see some spiral bombs for the first time ever today and inside of the foot ones as well

He just not going to the line enough to ball play. And not game managing when the team needs him too.
