Davey was always a value signing, has played well for us but now his value has gone up and we can't afford him without pushing out some of our promising juniors.

I think the Eels have overpaid considering his age and injury history. He went down like he had been shot, a few times last night. Surprisingly bounced back quickly but I don't think it'll be long before he goes down and doesn't get back up.

Been saying it for a while and he showed it last night. Tolu is definitely a Michael Jennings and that try confirmed it. isn't it great having flying backs for the first time in a while. Tom, Garrick, Tolu, Saab. Garrick and that run through the middle just showed teams have to be so ready for the speed that we have.

I recorded the end of the game and counted how many times Jake said “nice” in his post game interview and that was before my recording cut out.

Manly made him an offer to extend his current deal but he went with Parra from reports. Would have liked to have held on to him but he is 30 years old and not worth paying overs for.

The Eels obviously were able to make a good offer, esp. as Papali'i & Mahoney are leaving. Also, I think Davey is still housemates with Lane, which could be a factor.

Big factor... but still he will be a big loss. He would create competition and whoever beat him for that backrow spot will have absolutely earned it and he would be great value off the bench anyway.
