Hmm no Croker...
May I suggest , medical retirement ????

Not sure he’ll ever be back
As I said in another thread, I saw him at Saturday's Captain's Run with Turbo and Brown doing running drills down the sideline away from the team, suggesting all 3 were keeping fit for this week. My guess is they decided to hold Croker back for another week, for whatever reason, and save him for the Storm game.

I'll be surprised if Manly doesn't play well.
The whole squad knows our 'window', if it exists (which I reckon it does) is open .. but everything must go, limited time only!! They'll give it a red hot crack.
Brown back is a nice point of difference.
That sounds like one of those Persian Rug stores. Oh wait, when is Lodge back?

Unless it’s a other “ rainbow gate 2”
Yer it could happen, but I don’t think so, I actually have a feeling we might galvanise and have a red hot shot, one line of thinking is, Daly may not have agreed formally to terms with a club, but could be open to two Sydney clubs, he said he spoke with the clubs he was interested in at the end of last season, could be he’ll go with highest bidder, don’t think so, think it was always the chooks, but without having formally committed, he may still be leaving the dogs in with a shot to bump his value.

Fletcher though it was pretty funny on Fox the other night saying his worth a Million, funny thing is, he probably is to the right club, his a far better buy @ 1m a year for two years than Brown @ 1.3 a season.

Anyway his gone and his legacy is subject to a smear or two if you look backwards, best way to fix that, go out a winner, why would the boys want to through away the year, it’s a funny old game and while we aren’t favourites to win the comp, finish top 4 and we could if the focus is there and things fall into place, then you just never know, I’m not predicting it, I actually couldn’t find a place for us in the 8 prior to this and I didn’t just throw that out there, I went over and over the draw building ladders, I couldn’t find enough W’s, I had 32 points as the cut for the 8 and I kept coming in around 26 - 30 points and actually ended up with us on 28 finishing equal with the Titans and the Raiders in 9th, 10th and 11th differentials pending.

I’m probably not right, but it’s my take and I’m hoping this series of events will change that and the team will work hard together, see it as their shot at a GF and really have a crack, I don’t think Daly wants it to end in **** (any worse than it already is and he can salvage something with his performance) I even think he would prefer to win the comp before leaving and I think the core group of senior players will accept his call and want to win a tittle with him and for themselves before he goes, it’s why you play the game, let’s go, it’s done now, we move on and hopefully this year turns out better than most expect, it’s early on in the year and the noise will be over sooner rather than later.

Happy to hold onto it this way until and hopefully no storm breaks, if we start to see any rainbows we’ll know where fuked and there will be a few who will enjoy saying, I knew it, we told you so, but I have a feeling things just might not be as bad on the field as elsewhere.

Interesting view.

In my mind , absolutely no doubt he’s signed with the Rorters ( already ), it would be ( as I’ve mentioned a few times today ) a massive ( MASSIVE) deal encompassing playing for two years , coaching for maybe 5 years , specialist half back so he’s free for the media work that’ll also be a 5 year contract.

I’m guessing it’s circa 10 million

If you are just talking about things purely in a $$$ sense no other club could offer this and it’s chump change to Nick Politis.

Now , he’ll be in the cap for $500k, the NRL will pay that , but it’ll be at least another $500k 3rd party.

Following retirement his coaching role will simply be funded by Nick Politis.

And Uncle Nick , with his ability to swing lots of $$$ to Chan 9 for advertising , will have secured him a gig that works in with the coaching.

Oh sure my $$$ figures are a guess , as is where he’ll land , but he’s sure as **** not going to the Dolphins and I doubt he would go to an “ also ran” even for the offer of big dollars , for him it’s about “ the total package “.

Now all this is conjecture , but let’s see how close I go.

I think Tom and Jake have too much respect from the other players to just throw in the towel.

No doubt your right or really close, we’ve seen it before and I agree it’s most likely the Roosters with a very attractive deal, but don’t discount Laundy, it would be chump change to him too.

Anyway, I just want us to get on with it and destroy the slime this week, do that and there’s no reason we can’t just get on with it for the rest of the year, if Daly dials it in, that’ll do me, his legacy would mean nothing, I’m choosing to believe he will play for himself foremost, but will also be a professional and do his best for Manly, it’s not just about him for the remainder of the season, surely he can’t just sh1t can the place and his mates.

If he does he’ll unbelievably tarnish his own status for the long term , and surely even he wouldn’t want that.

I agree and never thought for one second they would, this is not about them, it’s all about Daly and his effort.
Unless things really get ugly, I can't see him not giving it his all. How could you ever look Tom or Jake in the face again if they thought you threw in the towel??!!
