Game Day: Manly v Eels [Round 1, 2017]

Gutted I will miss the first game - I will be on a plane to Melbourne....could not be worse

Personally, I hope Lewis wins Manly players' player this year, just to rub your nose in it. Banter and heckling is one thing, but your constant belittling of a player does not do you much credit, @BOZO!
Manly Sea eagles for me comes first and not my ego and I would be more than happy to eat humble pie and see Brown make a great contribution to our team. From what I have seen of Brown since he wore our maroon and white he has been absolutely as useless as tits on a bull

m8, we all love your passion, but surely you can say you don't think he is good enough without the barrage of personal abuse. Remember, he is also one of your feathered friends.

The view that awaits 'the faithful' on the trip to...Lottoland!

Many Manly thanks for the fine upstanding gentleman who emailed me the pic. I have posted it here without asking (I'm so gangsta like that.)

I still have no idea why the beer is warm and the pies cold. Surely it is not like that for all the brookie games?

Nothing personal intended Woodsie . I was just expressing my views .

That is a very grassy knoll.

I would not be surprised if he is there now because we could use an older head with plenty of experience to start the season off. Cullen and Hastings would be the players earmarked for the spot within a few weeks perhaps.
Its a shame really that we only get mr Brown at the end of his career. He was a very good mobile backrower back in the day, and quite a few times I watched him playing for the Warriors or Panthers, I wished he was running alongside Watmough and Stewart (in what would have been the smallest and most mobile backrow in history, come to think of it). But we get him now, when his speed is diminished...and yes we frequently played him out of position.I do think he'll go better this year, but I also feel that he will be surpassed by the young guns struggling to work their way onto our bench.

Experience without Impact amounts to nothing and unless Brown shows some form this season as you say Freagle the eager and talented young ones will get their opportunity

The lack of preparation time means that the vans don't plug into the electricity till the gates open.
So cold pies and warm beers will be at Lottoland too @

I can't see Brown being too good this year, he is certainly not strong enough for a second row, too slow at centre, dummy half he's pretty good although that positions definitely covered. Could've picked a much more useful utility such as Cullen or Hastings who could at least play some somewhat speedy football in the backs and could play dummy half, 5/8 and halfback

Prove me wrong Brown

Lewis Brown played in all 26 games for us in 2016 and most in the starting side due to the injuries that we had
So looking at his stats in 26 games the New Zealand International
Made only 2 lines breaks all season
Made 1 try assist all season
scored 2 tries all season
Averaged 6 hit ups a game
Averaged 16 tackles a game
Averaged 53 meters a game.
The club is having another spring clean up at the end of 2017
