Game Day: Manly v Bulldogs [Round 8, 2019]

Take note of how many hard runs he took out of our own end in the dying stages tonight when the team was struggling

Would need to see it again but I think AFB was injured by one of those "prowler" tackles or whatever they call it when the third man in attacks the lower legs. Illegal tackle that is creeping back into the game.

He was doing that all throughout the game. Often well after held had been called and the other Dogs players were starting to release the tackled player so that the ball could be played.

Gritty, determined, gutsy effort from the boys. So many injuries and walking wounded. I thought the back 3 Siro, Thommo and Jake were huge tonight. They stood up and bashed the dogs when it mattered. Awesome effort from a bunch of players that no one rates. Des is moulding another era of success. Now if only we can get a break from injury soon and field our top 13 then they'll give the top 4 a shake.

Because every week we lose another player we also win another game

Thommo put on some big shots again tonight. He is really starting to aim up in defence in an aggressive way.

Got to agree, not just today's game it's been a feature of the last few games. When he's been needed towards the end and there's been signs of the team flagging he's lifted us with some strong runs and got us off the back foot

None have been there for some time
We had a belief last year of mediocrity
We would try but expect to get beat

There is now not a player in the top 30 who first believe we can win the comp

There is big difference in playing to win a game rather than avoid defeat

Did anyone else cringe when they started playing the song ‘Time of your life’ (the words go: “it’s something unpredictable, but in the end it’s right I hope you had the time of your life” ) as the camera stops on Foran sitting there in his Bulldogs gear?
