Game Day: Manly v Bulldogs [Round 4, 2017]

What do you want him to do talk it down?

No, but I certainly expect a bit of realism. How about, "let's get the fortress back" or something along those lines. Threatening The Dogs are in for a tough time because it's a fortress is ridiculous.

For the last 2.5+ years, it's been more like an easy two points for the opposition. We need to get our identity at home back.

Surely you see that? Even if it does come from a nerdy, boring Anorak like me.

The Fortress won't become the Fortress again until we are #strongertogether

Watching the Dogs, there are 2 key factors to roll them.
1) Line speed - get up at the big men quickly in numbers and get them on their backs....without go forward, they play sideways all day.
2) Massive pressure on the play makers - Mbye and Reynolds are good individual players, but lose focus and control when bustled more so than most halves combinations....also pressure that kicking game to win field position.

You're all assuming that we are a .500 team which could be argued against.

Also, maybe over the course of the season we win half and lose half, but we have runs of bad and runs of good.

Besides, what if its a two headed coin. Does that mean we will always win or always lose......

An even bigger factor is if the refs let the dogs play offside all game, if they do we have no chance. It seems impossible to win games when it happens to us

Some how we are #strongertogetherstrippedapart

Don't get me wrong , confidence is a massive part of this game and now the monkey is off their backs I expect we will see a more committed team this weekend.

I only hoped for 3 things at the start of the year.

1) beat the Eels
2) beat the Bulldogs
3) and don't win the ****ing wooden spoon!!

Let's at least hope for 2 out of 3!

More concerned about what Manly can control, though very valid point....the Dogs really get the jump in defence and hang on longer in the tackle than most also.

We all miss you brother , well most of us any way
Have a great time and GO the mighty Sea eagles !!!

Been bushwalking and camping ( well glamping I suppose) for the last week in the National Parks of the New England. I did manage some internet for a bit over the weekend so caught up with Saturday's result.

At Yamba for a spot of fishing before returning home on Sunday.

And yes, GO MANLY!!

Good on you Mark , I envy your lifestyle . life is short and we all must make the most of it and be happy .
A win by our beloved Sea eagles will make us all happy this weekend

So Bainbridge and Kennedy have dropped off our extended list and today's Blacktown Workers article on MWSE site mentions Lane and Matt Wright are playing for them. It would seem we will be carrying Hastings and Brown on the bench together.
