Game Day: Manly v Bulldogs [Round 4, 2017]

Does Matt Wright being named in the extended squad mean there may be an outside back with a niggling injury?

Matt Wright has been named as a reserve for each game this year. I wouldn't read much into it, just there if there is a last minute injury.

As expected with AFB on the bench, Marty straight back into the staring team and Lussick still unavailable. Surely Brown will drop out and either Bainbridge or Lane will come back in. Please Bazzie poo.

New rules this year.

on Tuesday you name 21 - your 17 have to come from this unless there are exceptional circumstances. So you need to name injury cover outside of your 17 for each position on Tuesday just in case.

Ive got a good feeling about this week. Getting 2 of our best props back and gaining massive amounts of confidence from last week, I think we should take this one out in a damaging contest. Such a big game for us to really get our season going and not undo our good work. Will be good to see us out muscle the dogs up front

Particularly lane playing against his old club and coach in Des , he would have a point to prove

Lane
Hastings
AFB
Myles( the one that played last weekend)

would be my bench good mix of size and back up if needed.

Spot on davo, it would make no sense to have 2 utility's on the bench.
Barrett has got to stop looking after his Penrith reject mates and put the team first!

May be we will run a lot from dummy. I'm excited by that. Two hookers when Raiders first played hodgeson at lock, last year, just carved up the dogs big forwards.

Tactically, great move.

That we have named 3 hookers?

What confuses me even more. Is Brown hasn't spent much time on the field this year either.

Lewis has looked better this year. But if he is a damaging small backrowerer or the plan is to use him as a hooker.

Why's does he just warm the bench!

Tooves used to just not use a bench player as well. I don't understand why coaches do it.

I'd let Lane have a run against his old club. As others have said, I can't see why we'd need Hastings and Brown on the same bench.

As named.

1 - Tom Trbojevic
2 - Jorge Taufua
3 - Dylan Walker
4 - Brian Kelly
5 - Akuila Uate
6 - Blake Green
7 - Daly Cherry Evans (c)
8 - Brenton Lawrence
9 - Api Koroisau
10 - Martin Taupau
11 - Frank Winterstein
12 - Curtis Sironen
13 - Jake Trbojevic (vc)

14 - Lewis Brown
15 - Nate Myles
16 - Jackson Hastings
17 - Addin Fonua-Blake

18 - Shaun Lane
19 - Jarrad Kennedy
20 - Matthew Wright
21 - Billy Bainbridge

I can't for the life of me figure out how Brown keeps his place in this team. I mean, Billy Bainbridge and Shaun Lane each provided more impact in one game than Brown has in his 27 straight games since he's been at Manly.
Last minute changes would be Bainbridge or Lane in the 17
Can see us having 2 lightweights in Brown and Hastings on the Bench up against the big aggressive dog pack . If it was up to me it would be bye bye Brown
