The obvious indicator of Des' prowess as a coach is not how well the "stars" have performed under him, but how well he gets average players playing. Think about how many "crap" players have come to us and blossomed under Des across his two stints as coach, and how many "star" players turn to dog s**t under coaches like Barrett.

Many of our current squad have come from the junior ranks ie the Turbos, Parker, The Shoe, Tent, Guaca, Tyfuna, Con ... or made their NRL debut for Manly ie. Sandwich, Keppie, Tenterfield, DeLuxe... I think Harpo, Wasabi and Froggy may have played one or two NRL matches for other clubs before being recruited to Manly.
Established players recruited include Walker, Kapow, SirLoin, The Lawman, Lance, Suli . . .
The players that I think DESpicable has recruited are Tippytoes, Harpo, Wasabi, The Lawman, Davey, Sandwich, Al . . .
I'm no statistician so I'm happy to be corrected on any of the above.

So the Bulldogs have supporters and fans? What does the coach of the year mean by this insightful remark? Barrett is also paid to coach, unfortunately the concept of coaching well, is completely beyond him.

This is such a nothing game (but means a lot). On paper we should win by 70 points. If we do it will not help our mind set. Just hope we get through with no injuries or suspensions
