Game Day: Manly V Broncos [Round 11, 2024]

I feel like now that Reece Walsh is out the decision to "sell" this home game to the Magic round will come back to bite us.

The bookies have broncos -6.5...if this was at Brookvale it would be 50/50.

I understand with what you are saying but if you are good enough on the day
You can beat any team on any home ground

While not many are rating us for a win tonight we are still capable of turning up with this team. Obviously Koula needs to bring his best to no1. If he does he could really be our standout tonight. Alot depends upon the whole squad though. Vaega and Paulo we need their best. Garrick we need him to stand up a bit now Tom is gone. DCE and Brooks really need to be sharp and effective. We still have a powerful forward pack so we need to get in the arm wrestle and hopefully get our goal line defence sorted. Will be watching. Hopefully Ben gets a chance to show off some of his ball playing we need a skillful game from him and Olakau'atu should be fit and firing after a 2 game break.

So I am really hoping for a resilient performance in defence and that Koula adds something from the back particularly with his pace and creating overlaps.

I love Koula at the back but I think it also places far more pressure on Brooks and DCE as Turbo's ball playing / general threat level is very hard to replace

Also remember this broncs team has hardly been impressive this year. Even with their decent players in. Match is closer than the odds are suggesting and all my broncs mates (who are diehard fans and know the game) agree.

Would love to see this squad play together as one especially in defence. A win here would give our season a huge boost of confidence. I'm interested to see how our two wingers go now they finally get another opportunity on the big stage. And Koula could be a winner in the no. 1 jersey. He just needs to play it smart and back himself to control the game from our own end.

Just need to play to our strengths. I feel we need to get straight in the arm wrestle in the middle and look at throwing some fast up tempo play the balls at them in the first 20. We can definitely score the points if we respect possession because we have some elusive players With Koula, Talau Garrick and Paulo all dangerous with some space. And DCE and Brooks are good at finding the holes.
