Manly star Manase Fainu’s drug, depression rehab

Munster is as loose as you’ll get ...
Some of the stuff you hear from his Rocky mates is some really crazy ****.

They get to keep a lot under wraps down there being a non league town. If they can really play they will keep them believe me.That’s why the ones that do leave rarely perform.

I always get a bit uneasy when Melbourne get held up as poster boys for anything - given the salary cap fiasco with the whole club up to their necks in it with dual contracts etc and the wrestle bull**** with new charges having to be invented to stop injury to opposition players.

No one pushes the limits like them.Win at all costs - they don’t let the real good ones go just like everyone else.

They have incredibly wealthy owners - Jaycar, Tripp and co who make Penn look like a curb side beggar - there is a bag carrier for the bag carriers down there,. Nothing is too much re support. Does that make them a professional outfit ?You bet but it doesnt change the fact they will push the limits on everything- and being away from the spotlight helps them do it.

But regardless of player exploits off the field ,what Bellamy does incredibly well is hold players to account for every single thing they do ON the field. Something that doesn’t happen here and that’s the true difference.
Have to politely disagree.
Des is huge on accountability and does more video than any other coach. It isn’t working. He has become Brian Smith. The players are mentally exhausted.
Munster is a larrikin, sure, but he isn’t facing stabbing charges, nor does he sleep in his car during training sessions.
It’s not about being a choir boy, it’s about being mentally resilient and that is the difference between our players and the guys in Melbourne. Munster and co. always have their heads in the game. Bellamy screens for these sorts of qualities. All we screen for is ‘he is an athlete with a good carry’ so sign him up!
that’s the difference.

Interesting comment re. too much video... that’s the way it looks on the field. We’re playing like robots scared to do something wrong that will be brought up in a video session.

And telling Taupau not to offload. No wonder he wants out. He isn’t allowed to play his natural game. You look at Parra and so much of what they do is second phase play from Paulo, CG, Brown and co. You need to play unpredictable football to be successful and we just churn out boring yardage sets and throw it to the edges in good ball positions and get tackled with the ball in the corner....waste of time.

No surprise we scored our only try against Penrith from a Keppie offload...

In saying that, it is frustrating when Marty tries an impossible offload coming out of our own end and we drop the ball. Puts all the pressure back on our defence.

The best teams find a balance of when to offload and when to play the percentages

Interesting that Michael Morgan has been forced into retirement due to cartilage degeneration in his shoulder that resulted from a post-op infection. Similar thing happened to Sam Burgess from memory.

I hope Manase’s shoulder infection wasn’t as bad. Worrying though.
