I just don't know why we bothered with this guy..
Yes he's talented.. can't deny that . But I wanted him gone after his alleged sex scandal... Then the alleged stabbing... Now the alleged drug addiction..
Seriously..
Get pretty over watching a team struggling while waiting for that guy to go to trial... Worst thing is, that's all within a year and a half span... If he's here for another 5 years, what more crap are we going to allegedly put up with

Manase’s trial is scheduled for July 26 and is predicted to go for three weeks.

That means the absolute earliest he could play would be Round 23 if cleared. No way will he be up to speed enough to contribute to the team this year.

So even if cleared he hasn't played for 2 seasons. I wonder if he'll ever get to hit his peak.
It's like he served his 2 year morman mission

My problem is the club shouldnt want alleged criminals playing for us at all.. regardless of how good they are.
I also wanted Walker gone after his alleged 20th incident. We just seem to enjoy having alleged w@nkers in our side apparently

I see nothing other than a troubled young man dealing with a host of pain and problems none of us have ever had to go through ... whether self inflicted or wrongly accused ... the combination of worry of the court case, boredom, constant pain, prescribed Valium, pain killers and lack of sleep are a toxic combination and a text book scenario for depression ... for any of us .. let alone a 21 year old ...

I wish him well ... if found guilty, I wish him in prison ... but until then I wish him well

My point is that there is no culture at our club...

How long do you reckon Manase or Dylan would last at Rorters or Drizzle?

How long would Des last anywhere based on his recent record (here and dogs), and his ability to see the effort where there is none?

We are a rabble to rival the tigpies and dogs atm... 🙁

Some of us have and managed to avoid the 'situations' that Manase has found himself in...

He is either guilty in which case off to jail or not guilty in which case he put himself in a pretty sh1t spot to be accused in the first place (attitude, lifestyle, associations etc)

I do question the thinking behind holding his ability above all else and offering a contract extension and I reckon it says a lot about us as a club - as does continuing to back someone with alcohol abuse issues and a history of DV (irrespective of whether he had a smart lawyer or not)

I can't help but think if it were Melbourne instead of Manly, they'd have backed Koroisau and let Fainu go. I am not saying Fainu is guilty (we can let the court decide that) but we the best defensive 9 in the comp go and he played in a GF the following year whilst our 9 sat out the year with a 'stabbing' charge hanging over his head. He has a track record but as always, Manly take the road of least resistance and choose talent over character. That's a big reason why we are a laughing stock right now. Talent only gets you so far.

All is not lost
If he maintains a high level of fitness off the field he will be great off the bench

He is such a talent he can play better on one leg with than some of our players who are playing with two
