I wonder if this has all been timed given we are on the bye and are likely to win our next two matches anyway. Both at home against 2 teams that have a combined one win from their last 8, with that one win being Souths beating Tigers. Although we've lost to the only 3 teams below them in the last month so certainly wouldn't be calling them easy wins.

I imagine Mestrov is feeling the pressure from the fans and media to see some changes but doesn't want to push Seibold too hard given their personal relationship, so has given him 2 weeks to 'turn it around' when in reality I don't think winning these two games we should win anyway would really change much IMO. Either way I'm actually glad to see it all being played out publicly now because **** me, it's been a rubbish season so far and until now it felt like we were the only ones that were seeing all these problems.

Anthony Seibold held a series of one-on-one meetings with his Manly players on Monday in a bid to save his coaching career, making one of the biggest calls of his time at the club by shifting Tom Trbojevic to the centres.

Seibold held seven-minute talks with each player as pressure mounts on the under-fire coach to turn the struggling Sea Eagles’ fortunes around.

The coach handed each player a document, outlining his concerns with their performances this year.

Manly sources with knowledge of the situation talking on the condition of anonymity due to confidentiality said Seibold’s approach upset certain sections of his team, who were critical of the coach providing criticism and few solutions.

It will do little to ease a growing narrative coming out of the Manly playing group that Seibold has limitations as a head coach and may have reached his ceiling with the Sea Eagles.

As I said I certainly wouldn't be calling them easy wins. Just on paper they are games we should win and I suspect that if we don't then Mestrov would no longer have a choice.

I doubt Siebold has any future at the club now. Once these noises start about giving a coach two weeks and safe for now etc it’s the start of the end.

In 2022 the results were no where near up to scratch against the roster we had and the expectations. We were almost bottom 4

In 2023 we did do well but again we let multiple games slip up 16 and 20 nil and then had that awful semi against the roosters. We should have been top 4 last year and pushing for a GF with the roster we had and the players we had plus the fact we had two state of origin captains in the side.


The results this year have been disgusting and we are on our way to our first spoon.

Like him, hate him. Whatever. He is as good as gone I reckon.

Mestrov went out and head hunted Seibold, I doubt his tenure is in as much danger as being reported, because Mestrov will be wanting to try and save face

I’ve never held out much hope with Seibold, but also don’t hold any sort of high hopes for the club with Mestrov pulling the strings

Sipley and Waddell joining Saab and Croker in NSW Cup this weekend. Was initially excited especially to see Waddell's name, but realised it has no bearing on our team list for next week and any or all of them could be straight back in first grade after the bye.

Not sure I would say Sipley is dropped on form, probably more match fitness for him and making use of the bye week

Impressed with how hard he looks to have worked during his suspension, come back looking trimmer and making an impact with the ball. Can’t say the same for one of the other front rowers

I would say it's to get their fitness up.

What's the bet Waddell is named on the edge for the NSW Cup team. Get it some reps before he is selected in Haumole's spot for the next 2 games minimum.
