Luke Brooks - the plate is hot

We signed Brooksy to appease $CE and give him an experienced halves partner after he had failed with everyone else he played with not named Foran, now with the flog leaving there is no real need for Brooks anymore.

Give Walsh the last three games to finish the year and he can take the 6 jersey next year, let Brooks go to super league where he was going to end up before we signed him anyway.

What super league team is going to pay 600k for Brooks?

Zero

One of the worst first graders to have played 250 games.

Honestly no wonder the Tigers were a rabble for a decade with him pulling the strings.

I reckon he has been lucky to have played any better then a 7/10 a dozen times in his career.

time to go with the rest of the old age pensioners and non performers, Joey will be ready soon and id get sandon smith, roosters letting him go

Can I suggest a new thread title?

‘Luke Brooks - the plate is now cold and split in two, because it wasn’t microwave safe’

he is third highest in the comp for missed tackles at 78... He has not defended well.
I've seen some evidence that said that Brooks was in the lowest 10 NRL-wide for average metres conceded per missed tackle. In other words, the tackles he does miss, the player usually ends up being taken down anyway.

Unweighted stats on their own can be incredibly deceiving, and this is probably one of the best examples of it. You can have a low missed tackle count, and be a terrible defender. In this case it's the opposite.

Many people were defending Garrick's defence last year on the basis of his low missed tackle rate. Of course this didn't match the eye test. That's another example.

IMO missed tackle stats are one of the most overrated measures. The Bulldogs have had thirty million missed tackles over the past two years, and yet they've made the finals, and improved, while keeping missed tackles.

I actually think Brooks best position would be......wait for it.....hooker. Can defend in the middle no problem.

It would be the Manly way to turn him into one as well.

I'm half serious and half taking the pi55, incidentally.
