Does this mean there is work being done on the COE and if so, why when a game is due to be played?
Remember my “joke” from earlier this year about the council covering the oval with blood and bone just prior to the home final?Does this mean there is work being done on the COE and if so, why when a game is due to be played?
The reality is there is no more risk being at Brookvale oval than at any pre mid 1980's house. No way the game goes ahead at Brookie.
Even if it's deemed safe, the council and club will open themselves to all sorts of issues by putting footy fans and family's at a media hyped risk which will do nothing but hurt the clubs reputation.
It's extremely bad timing but if the club has any smarts, they have to cop it on the chin and move the game to another location.
In all seriousness though, don't eat the grass on the northern hill.
Well it says that it'll be moved unless made safe in 24 hours.Amazing how many of you (at least 4 pages worth) take the bait.
Read the article and there is nothing doing, both from the club and (it pains me to say this) the nrl
This is the quote on the NRL official site:Amazing how many of you (at least 4 pages worth) take the bait.
This is the quote on the NRL official site:
"Manly are in danger of losing their first home final in over a decade due to the discovery of asbestos traces on the famous Brookvale Oval hill.'
So hardly a shock that it produces a deflating effect on Manly fans. If it's sorted I'll be happy, if not it is a major blow in just about every way.
Every assurance it can. From the same article ?
"Council has given the NRL and the Manly Sea Eagles every assurance it can that there is no reason the scheduled semi-final at Brookvale Oval cannot go ahead next week," he said.
I’m pretty sure there was uranium on the hill last time I was there. And anthrax.
Well I wish they had opened with that statement instead of saying we're in danger of losing the match. I have my fingers crossed! From the same article ?

Designated section “A” (for ‘Away’ of course...)Just make sure the sharks away supporters are put with the asbestos
I always said the NRL would never let us play a final at Brookie. But I sure didn’t see this one coming. Imagine the media if the game goes ahead. We’d be lucky to sell a ticket. No way the game goes ahead at Brookie.

Council facility. Council safety declaration, and liability. Don’t expect them to do us any favours.Well it says that it'll be moved unless made safe in 24 hours.
But by who's standards.?
Council or NRL??
If it's the shifting sands of the agenda driven then I don't share your confidence and I genuinely wish I did.
