Haha are these the same people that watched 5 minutes of MCK and want him resigned at any cost?
Ha I must admit last night was the first time I had seen Chee Kam play, but he impressed me somewhat. He can hit pretty well and was always there in support. He's very fast (it would seem) for a back rower: he was keeping pace easily with our backs when supporting breaks.

Thing is, he was massively hyped when signed from the Raiders and simply didn't deliver. As far as I know he's had a pretty bad run of injuries but I had serious doubts that he was even a real thing! Imagine my surprise when he not only played last night......but played well 😉

It is a good point that he is an 80 minute player, he will bring flexibility as he covers a number of positions, smart buy and being a kiwi are covered around origin time.

Honestly, the only time I've seen him in the flesh has been at Warringah Mall.

I always hoped he'd turn it on at some point but I remember guys saying earlier in the year when we had Williame and so on playing that he wasn't doing much in NSW Cup.

As for Brown, it did seem like every touch or involvement was off today but it's a small sample. What I'm really hoping for is that Barrett can lure Cartwright. They seem pretty tight. Hopefully there is Dalai/Foz level of love...

Yeah, imagine a forward pack with Jake T, Ballin/Korioso, N Myles... Cartwright, Mateo and Buhrer... Then Mason(?), Starling, Lawrence and Leary on the bench.. That's a forward pack 😉

Very dangerous to judge a player on one game. If you'd seen Kieran Foran for the first time a few months ago you would have wondered what all the fuss was about but look at Foran last night, what a game. Brown is a good player and gets involved a lot but sometimes things don't go right.

Yes nobody on here wrote off DCE after his first few games!!!!

He's a very good signing.

Experience, durability, flexibility are Brown's three biggest assets.

None of our current edge forwards have all three, barring Buhuer, and I would argue Brown can cover more positions, some to a higher standard, than Buhuer and is certainly more durable than Tommy Symonds.

Brown's value will become truly apparent as soon as any injuries strike next year.

I always liked the bloke but my initial reaction was indifference. He's a bit older than when I really rated him at the Warriors. He is really tough. And I don't see anyone like that in our pack at the moment. There are good young players but not hardened yet. Myles and Brown bring that.

I think mason is worth another year.

.. hahaha Loobs, dream on buddy,it wont happen. The Cartwright/Jones faction up at the Riff wont let it happen. They have invested heaps in young Bryce, and besides that,he doesnt want to leave anyway

I rate him and he did represent NZ...just not sure if he is what we need though? Guess time will tell, prefer him over watnow and wouldn't command half his pay packet, gotta assume barret had his say about the purchase so lets wait and
see before we ride it off.
