Lawton and Send off rule

I disagree, I dont think Murrays body was ever in a position where it looked likely that his head or neck was going to be first in contact with the ground. It always looked like his shoulder would be the first part of his body in contact with the ground.

Well problem is that they tend to interpret that to mean any lifting above horizontal makes it likely. I see zero prospect of a successful challenge, but then again the judiciary has produced plenty of surprises in the past. However Manly won't challenge this one.

Well at least the MRC has come down hard on deliberate eye gouging whilst a player is scoring a try. Mansour Grade 1 contrary conduct $750 fine. Once again demonstrating the complete corrupt bias that the nrl perpetrates week in week out.

I loved beating the sharks with 12 men when hoppa got sent off. But that was in 2005 with no 6 again rule.

So yes would be happy to wear a change that when a player is sent off a team can put a player on as replacement after 10 mins. There is still a penalty because the team is reduced to 16.

Send them off , give the other team a penalty and then the 18th man becomes part of the 17.

So you roll the dice on 18 because you might have a back and a forward gets sent off.

Just another way to make games a contest regardless.

Well that charge alone proves that the bunker had it in for Manly. The foul play was while Foran was in the act of scoring so at the very least should have been a possible 8 point try.

I wonder how some on here would have felt if the same tackle was on Turbo
Yeah hard to argue against the send off. I’m more interested in the debate on allowing a replacement. If it changes it’ll be another “manly rule change”, with manly the last club to get punished pre the change.

Love the idea of a prolonged period time off the park and then a reduced bench

Honestly , it was a send off.

If you saw that in ANY other game you’d say the same.

I don’t think it was malicious , but it looked very bad.
Disagree. Lost control and was not deliberately trying to drive his head into the ground.

Hand between the leg and lifting I think is different.

First impact and technique was great, just went wrong, surprised how easily he flipped him over

If possible and if you can, avoid watching any sports shows or news sports commentary for the next week to avoid all the 'holier than thou' biased bull fodder spewing out of the commentary teams and reporters about that tackle. It just makes life a bit easier.

Any thoughts on the Jack Wighton tackle on Reece Walsh from today's game? Other than a second tackler ... not a whole lot different to Lawton's tackle last night.

Wighton's was only a penalty and on report.

Honestly, it seems to me like last night's send off was the overcompensation incident making up for last weeks on-field inaction over Tupou.

The NRL are as consistent as ever.

Wighton should of gone to the bin,but no send off.He was probably saved by having a teammate in the tackle.Matt Lodge could of easily been sent off just then though
