Daly Cherry-Evans feels vindicated and thankful that the NRL admitted the Sea Eagles deserved a penalty for winger Reuben Garrick being illegally blocked in the final seconds of Saturday's 12-10 loss to the Dragons.

Touch judge Nick Beashel was dropped and NRL Head of Football Graham Annesley apologised for the failure of match officials to award a penalty against Dragons centre Tim Lafai after he prevented Garrick from competing for the ball.

DCE feels thankful??? The NRL content editor is as bad as the NRL CEO.

"I've said to the boys, 'Let's not leave it in the hands of someone else. Let's just try and win a game of footy based on our own decisions and our own right in doing so'," he said.

"That's the most important lesson we learnt out of that game."

Sounds less thankful and more like a public declaration that Chez' rights were taken away by Munro :finger:

Um, so the Touchy was dropped, From where I saw it, (Marylin) Munro was the one that made the call. So he survives again..:swear::swear::swear:

Meanwhile the Dragons player who caused all of this escapes any sanction. Completely escapes me why the NRL don't have all games re-watched on Monday and start issuing on the spot fines of $5000 to players/clubs who got away with breaking the rules.

The NRL has the tape of the game. They have all the proof needed to show the offence. So why don't the NRL fine the Dragons winger for breaking the rules and not playing in the spirit of the game? If they did, maybe next week the Dragons winger in the same situation actually plays to the rules.

Were my eyes deceiving me?
Illawarra penalised in the first few minutes of their match with Easts for an escort? Easts kicked the goal. Two-nil.
Karma is a bitch, Illawarra!

That’s a can of worms you DO NOT WANT OPENED.

With the way that the NRL has essentially discarded “consistency” as having any form of relevance to “fairness”, this would simply produce yet another opportunity for the NRL to dictate the outcome of the competition.

They already use their referees and MRC to unfairly handicap some clubs enough, why give them another big stick with which to beat up on them??

Two refs in ice hockey were dropped for the rest of the Stanley cup finals series after their bosses decided a mistake was such a big stuff up, they should not be allowed to ref in the prestigious final series again.

The 2 refs were ranked 1st and 7th out of all refs.

None of this tip tap wrist slap crap the nrl goes on with.
