Although it's wet in Newcastle, fortunately this (Sydney's) torrential rain is falling from the central coast southwards, so it won't be such a slogfest as it could've been.

Still, possession will be precious and can't be squandered. I hope the forwards do what they're suppose to do, avoid penalties and 6-agains, and please leave the kicking to DCE, Foz and Garrick.

Thanks for the update. I was just about to ask what the weather is like up there ATM. From memory the ground drains well...

On a side note, you sydney folk need to lock this last 6 months into your memory - Sydney is WET. It might be warm.... but its frikkin wet. Next time you want to have a crack at Melbourne, you should remember you've already have 5 x the amount of rain as us this year! YES< it is cold down here and can change.... but it 100% rains more in Sydney!

WHilst I say that in jest - i do hope none of you have had it too bad in the flooding etc. Horrendous thing to have happen to you.

@Jethro , mate, can we just have ONE gameday thread to encompass pre / during / post discussion? I'll speak to Danners about it. Three game threads per game is too much imo mate

I really like the three. Makes it so simple for me and don’t have to wade through a heap of posts to get to what I’m interested in. Maybe if the pre game was closed once it got to game day that would help you?

I did lock the Pre-Game thread last week at kick off but I don't really think that it is justified if the Pre-Game thread is locked any earlier than kick off.

I get that it makes it easier to wade through the huge number of posts but couldn't the same thing be achieved by having 1 post per game and providing some sort of page number book marks for pre game, game day and post game chat.

The multiple threads sometimes shut down topics of conversation (for better or worse). I personally like the pre game/game day distinction but prefer when game day naturally flows into post game. I'll read them all regardless just my 2 cents.

We have enough skill experience and grunt to win this game.
However ... I am expecting that watching it unfold from the safety and warmth of my living room is going to be a fairly excruciating experience. I anticipate a fair bit of yelling at the TV in frustration!

hmmm no Sipley for Keppie - maybe Bullemor is the late sawp?... someone who wont go to sleep in the defensive line and who every week wont be a couple of steps late in covering off from the inside. Also someone who can bend the line at least once and run onto the ball at pace at least once. Keppie is on zero on all three counts so far. Silly mistakes and poor offloads... he gets high marks on those each week. If he plays tonight hopefully he really aims up in defence and attack and is all effort in defence and not asleep at the wheel.

It’s gonna take Foran and DCE to play straight and direct and hit short runners on the edges. Also, Croker to try and put some middle forwards into holes around the middle third. If ever we need to play straight and direct, it’s tonight!

Yep our forwards MUST aim up in attack and defence. Tippytoes to provide some Jorge type carries out of our end... hopefully error free
