From the 'NRL Casualty Ward - All the Latest Injury News' web page, Here is the Latest NRL Injured or Unavailable Update:

(Updated: Tuesday, 05 April 2022)

Manly superstar Tom Trbojevic will be sidelined for at least a month after scans confirmed he suffered medial ligament damage in Saturday's win over the Raiders. Trbojevic will undergo knee surgery this week with a hopeful return period of four weeks.

The Sea Eagles will travel to Newcastle on Sunday for a clash against the Knights with Brad Parker (COVID-19) and Dylan Walker (knee) also in doubt.

Manly Sea Eagles
  • Josh Schuster (Ankle, Round 6)
  • Tom Trbojevic (Knee, Round 9)
  • Brad Parker (COVID protocols, TBC)

However, from the NRL Casualty Ward, Manly hub page, there are slight variations to the information regarding the unavailable or injured players and their return periods:

  • Brad Parker (COVID protocols, Round 5)
  • Josh Schuster (Ankle, Round 6)
  • Tom Trbojevic (Knee, Round 9)

We need to win ugly. Whatever it takes for the two points. Knights are hard to beat at home and we are usually ordinary on Thursday nights and in the wet.

GO MANLY!!

Would have liked to see weekes at 1, but maybe Des didn’t want to expose him on a wet night for his debut. It won’t be an expansive game.

Lucky for us DCE is in form and showed the blueprint to stay competitive in games just last week. Against the knights game, last year in a real bludger, dce and frog gave us a couple of great kicks in the second half, where we upped the ante. We dropped the pill and shelved the approach for good and continued to self destruct

I am really hoping the kick game wasnt just a result of running down hill with the wind. Find out tonight i suppose

I hope we can kick long often and not just 40/20 attempts

We ignored our kicking game almost completely against the dogs with 4/5 kicks in the first half by forwards, in a cyclone.

Clearly our kicking game needs to be a managed From the sideline , its never the skill level issue, just the aptitude toward the tactics in general. Its scant at best , and the easiest thing to fix in our team IMO, but just dont.

Sea Eagles: Tolutau Koula, who was himself set to replace the injured Tom Trbojevic, has been ruled out with injury. Brad Parker returns to take his place in the centres with Christian Tuipulotu shifting to the wing.

Must have been linked to that giant bandage he was wearing last game.

I've been looking forward to seeing Koula at fullback all week, but if he succumbed to that trapped/corked looking leg injury then so be it! We still get to finally see Tippytoes get a go.
As bad as I wanted Weekes or Koula to play fullback, Im happy for Christian.
Garrick has been our form winger this year and I hope he can still show some attacking flair at the back. Wet weather plus the need for safe hands must of been Des' main line of thinking.
Good luck Tui!!

These kids play one game and get injured!
Gees their soft!
Wack a bit of dencorub on it …. Take an aspirin and get on with it!
Wouldn’t have happened in my day!

Just sayin’

I think the team will be stronger with Brad Parker back. In the expected conditions, his 90+ game experience, ability to play it tight and strong defence will come in handy. Especially when the other threequarters only have about 65 games worth of experience between them.

Reuben grew into the backup fullback role last year and won’t let the team down. DCE should be primed for a big one after extending for two more years and hopefully he and Kieran guide the team around the park. They have over 500 NRL games between them - that’s experience.

All the pressure now on the Knights.
We have enough skill experience and grunt to win this game.
However ... I am expecting that watching it unfold from the safety and warmth of my living room is going to be a fairly excruciating experience. I anticipate a fair bit of yelling at the TV in frustration!
But a win will make it all worthwhile :)
Go Manly
