Haven’t read there at of the thread but a very frustrating one today

Can’t take a trick with the whole back line being reshuffled. Thought we were the better team, still in the game despite a 10-4 count and 2 dodgy efforts from Perenara which both went against us, ball clearly knocked forward for 1 try and knocked into Parker which constitutes a knock on for the other one. The call that got me the most today was when Klein panicked after a Newcastle sheppard and gave them a penalty for us being offside

We play so much better in the dry, sure it wasn’t perfect but plenty of young guys stepping up and filling in out of position, and clearly some of those blokes like Cust, Sironen and Thompson were playing busted. Lot to like about the effort and games of the younger guys

I will say though my patience is done with Garrick now

To be honest I am glad the season is over - to much pain and suffering by both the players (with all the injuries) and the fans (with emotional issues beyond repair).
The last 8 games have been a hard watch - so see you all next year with the dream of -

no Covid19
no injuries
our young guns given a chance
referee and bunker decisions all going our way
Turbo,Jake & DCE all taking paycuts to get some new blood into the team
Des waking up and finding out that we are playing in 2021 not 10 years ago

I can’t bag Joel T after playing with that injury. He is a tough hombre.

I will have to say that after watching the game again at 6x speed to get the set restart figures, the Knights first two tries were off bullsh!t penalties against Jake.

After watching those 2 penalties in normal speed, Jake never touched the ball for the first penalty. The Knights player knocked the ball on all by himself.

For the second penalty, there was no holding down by Jake. The Knights player jumped up at the side of Jake at the same time that Jake was getting up. Yes, he still had hands on him but there was no downwards pressure to hold him down.

Early injuries hit us again. How many games is that lately where we have had to reshuffle the backline. Take out the fullback, then the backup fullback, then put a winger there, move your winger to the other side and another centre to winger and then put an interchange second rower in the centre position. It was never going to be easy from there. We just can't take a trick.

Then Klein did his usual nit picking penalties for the team behind to "manage the game", the same thing he does every single week (see my post history). In the second half they never really had to work the ball out from their own line. We were never allowed to get into a grind with them.

Croker is the only player that really let us down. His service from dummy half is atrocious, the worst i've seen from a Manly player out of dummy half. That missed tackle on Mann was poor too, though he did make up for it with a decent one on Pierce near the line later in the game.

I like our defensive line speed this week, it was much improved. We also ran onto the ball harder for the most part, sometimes stifled by poor passes and options out of hooker. Having Sirro back really stiffened up our defence, it was great to see him belt Klemmer.

We can beat Souths and then go on an unbeaten streak with Tom back all the way to the grand final. Just need a bit of luck.

The only problem that I can currently see with that without delving in too deep is that although it shows the amount of set restarts for each team, it doesn't satisfy the request that I was asked over the previous rounds and that is to show on what tackle each set restart was given.

Understood. The NRL app is also good but only gives the minute the restart occurs (play by play tab) but not the tackle count.

you think we got screwed this week watch souths on Saturday.

we got royally screwed by 10-2 penalty count we played them in the regular season game at anz stadium.

against every bone ans thought in my body i am as a member of anz stadium going to watch us live next Saturday night. i just hope we are competitive and get a fair chance to win.

I think the knocks on and dumb penalties, as well as the terrible outside defence was to blame than one kick. Some of those simple knock one and giving away dumb 4th tackle penalties lead to Newcastle points. Even that last try, Funa just had to tackle Pearce, but missed him twice while Suli just watched.

Suli looked like some someone had just given him an Endone milkshake before he ran on ,like he needs someone to slap him awake

It's not all bad, I backed Manly to not lose by more than 9.5pts.
