In fact I see us losing at least one , which I fear will be BK.

Losing Kelly would be a shame but I doubt we could afford him for more than 250k next year. Maybe they will offer him a back-ended 2 year contract to get us through the 330k penalty next year. ie 200k-350k.

Uate on more than Kelly money is not worth it, Ando, Suli Parker and T Wright can cover 1 wing and 1 centre spot even if we lose Ned and Uate.

My understanding is, if a bloke is not in the top 30 and then comes into it, his full contract value goes under the cap, not just the amount of increase between his Development deal or whatever else you want to call it.

Those contracts/deals have their own cap outside the Top 30 cap.

That's the way I see it anyway!

I remember something like that. Devel upgrades are separate from the top 30. Don't remember it fully.

Losing Kelly would be more than a shame. He is only 22 and game by game you can see some quite remarkable elements of his game that if developed well wil make him a star. I'm yet to be sold on Suli, though he is only 19 and certainly one tough customer. But all the raving on this site regarding his game against Brisbane left me perplexed. He was good but he didnt do that much. I'd have him on the wng for now. Kelly had a far more effective game. Anderson is one who must get a chance in first grade next year. He's got speed to burn and is also tough for his size. Parker looks to me more a forward than back and Tom Wright is certainly one who needs to be in firsts. I still havent lost hope that Tom W will make a worthy 5/8, but not yet. If so and if Taufua doesnt come back as strongly we could see next year a backline like

Certainly would provide some much needed aggression and is only coming into his prime. But if he goes to market a rabble like us would be 1000/1 to get him realistically. He'd be straight off to Parra/Rorters/Sharks

The two early season back to back wins we had, one against the slime, I can't remember who the other was, they worked a treat. Especially when api was backing him up.
I see what you are saying though and they can kill momentum, but I reckon better coaching would harness it.
And having better players around him.
But we have what we have.
