Klemmer

This topic is a load of drivel. We will need every penny of our 330k reduced cap in 2019 just to hold the best of what we have. Sorry.
Agree. Wouldn't drop Marty or AFB for him. These two are the heart & soul of our pack along with Jake. Klemmer is a great player but he's not a starting front rower and he'd be asking for too much to be on the bench.

We should target Shannon Boyd, Newcastle we’re front runners but they just signed glasby from storm. Boyd would be perfect off the bench

The problem is no one has any idea of what money players are on or what is against the cap

Take DCE - the actual amount and % towards the cap changes dependent on who is posting the info.
The other real problem is that the mathematicians on here don't consider that for every roster number you still have to spend at least 100k on a player to fill that spot. So cutting a 150k player saves 50k not 150k. Its a lot harder to find a large amount of money for a marquee player than the ironstines on here seem to think it is

Boyd wants 750k. No way is he worth that money. Would rather use that to secure some of the guns we have in our team today and put it into signing up some depth. Hopefully one of the youngsters in reserves or Jersey Flegg is ready to step up by 2020 when Hodko comes off contract. I would much rather promote from within the club.

Except when the spot is filled by upgrading, like we just did with Suli. Probably cost us about 30-50k.

Also a contract worth 400k over two years would almost always not be a 50/50 split

What will we offer him in comparison to the millions Gold Coast has put on the table? A free toilet pass perhaps.

It still cost minimum wage (could be more) as part of our cap

unless by cost you mean out of the clubs pockets which is not what people are generally discussing

Cost on the cap of course. He was already on 60k+ out of the club's pocket, so 40k from the cap to upgrade him into the 30? I guess he got a bit more.

Imagine Taupau, AFB, Klemmer, Lane, Paseka & Sipley running around. Way too big imo. Though it would create a sense of fear to smaller forward packs.

I would think his entire salary would go on the cap then as an increase and would have to be minimum of minimum wage.

In fact I see us losing at least one , which I fear will be BK.

But we will have Suli in the wings so not the worst thing in the world.

Uate a possibility also, but we then have Anderson.

I would think so too but have no idea how the NRL financially allocate the upgrade of a Train and Trial contract to top 30 registration such as Suli's, and I doubt many do. His T&T dollars were not part of the cap but i'm sure his upgrade is. Minimum wage is 100k, who knows how the T&T and upgrade portions are split between club and cap. Either way Suli's current contract is no more than 100k off our cap no matter how they do it. I'm sure he will probably cost us another 100k+ on top of that to retain for next year..
