So the Lurker is basically a forum lurker and nicks all his material from fan forums.

Also good to see that the Lurker feels a suitable replacement is currently playing SG Ball. Guess we didn't have anyone better in our Harold Matthews squad.

Personally, I'd feel that Foran is a bit of a d.ck if he waits until before the season starts to announce he'd be going to Parra. That would be very poor form. Which is why I feel that he'll stay.

Personally, I'd feel that Foran is a bit of a d.ck if he waits until before the season starts to announce he'd be going to Parra. That would be very poor form. Which is why I feel that he'll stay.

Lets hope so. It would certainly stuff our season up if he waited until January to announce that he was going.

I have a feeling that he was definately going to Parramatta at the end of last year but has now had second thoughts.

Hopefully similar to last time he resigned when he was almost going to the dogs.

If he's leaving can we just get it over and done with now, I'd rather know now and let things settle rather than an announcement right at the start or during the 2015 season.

I'm really starting to hate this whole system and the what if's , maybe's, maybe nots, and journo leaks that go on in the game, it's really tough to be a fan these days.

I heard a rumour that we are trying to sign ray thompson from the cowboys as replacement for ballin. Considering ballin has a couple years left and hodges is a perfectly good replacement for ballin maybe we are trying to sign thompson for a halves role? He is a decent player and if the rumour is true we are either covering bases if one of the halves leave or one of the halves is actually leaving. God I hope the rumour isnt true

Makes no sense. We signed Hodges on a 3 year deal and he left the Cowboys knowing full well he had a great opportunity to take a vacant first grade spot there to play second fiddle behind Ballin. Clubs and players dont make moves like that unless there are firm plans in place for the future.

The whole aspect of negotiating deals a year in advance is just ridiculous and does not work. Why can't players just be signed to their clubs and only able to negotiate for the upcoming season. It works in every other sport. Do something where for say Foran,the moment Manly's 2015 season ends he is free to sign anywhere he wants but up until that point, he is under Manly's full control. Why they have to do it a year and half out from when they will actually play for the new club is anyone's guess...

I also marvel at how much this is in the player's favour. If his form were to drop completely this year like Maloney's did last year for the Roosters, he'd be sitting on a great deal despite lousy form. And whoever commits to the big bucks has to pay up no matter what. Frankly, I'm surprised the clubs don't get together on this and work out a scheme to benefit them all.
