Does anyone know the criteria or what players are available to play Shield footy, I been looking to see if Zac Sadler stayed on at the club and I haven’t seen his name in the shield team.

I noticed Cameron Brown played yesterday, is Shield the avenue for players not playing NSW cup to have a run?

Last year, excess Flegg and some Ball players were in the Shield team. That one time in a season, players from shield were elevated to Flegg when they were needed in the NSW cup. Also last year there were some NSW cup players getting game time in the Massey Cup affiliated team.
It will be interesting see who goes where.

Last year we were still affiliated with Workers,we used the surplus Flegg players and then the Ball players after the season was over in our Shield side.
There was no Massey side last year,Workers let their unused players who did not make KOE cup play with Mounties in the Massey cup,who they had an affiliation with.
Have no idea this year,not sure where the surplus guys go.....

Just on a side note...Laiafi has moved up to the Flegg bench this weekend.
Also,I think the guy off the bench,Joe Stocks is the pommy prop from the London Broncos,actually made their senior side last season.

Gotta love a story which itself even admits that it is only potentially a story!
(besides which 'promising NRL rookie' would refer to someone who has played NRL but still rookie status, although I guess that's assuming the shoosh author understands English)
